Hi, I'm away in London at the moment (normally live in Wales) I'm on my way back today and in the rush to the station I tripped and fell on my front :( I know it's probably not done much as I mainly landed on my knees and hands and somehow managed to avoid the stomach but do you think it's worth giving the midwife a call when I get home?

Yes I would give her a call. Just to put your mind at rest if nothing else. The way you describe it doesn't sound like you would have done any damage. If you are rhesus negative though they will most likely want to give you anti D.

minilemonade · 19/08/2018 12:49

Ah I am rhesus neg that's a good point. Thank you! I'll give her a call once I'm home x

Yeah I would call just to be sure/ give yourself some reassurance. I think at the stage the baby is well protected but I would call anyway, even if it's just to give yourself some peace of mind x

minilemonade · 19/08/2018 12:58

Thanks. I think I will otherwise I'll just keep worrying 😂

I fell face first at 15 weeks right on my belly. Randomly an ambulance was passing at the time and they stopped to see if I was ok. They said that babies were well protected and were more worried about me wrists where I went down.

Hopehope20 · 19/08/2018 16:41

What did she say? I fell at 16 weeks, didn't hit my belly or anything but because I am rhesus neg they wanted me in for that. You just need it within 72 hours I believe. You may not have hit you belly but you could still have cause some very small bleeding (I had no signs of bleeding but thought it's still best to be covered) x

minilemonade · 19/08/2018 17:43

They said to me they don't think I need it at this stage but I'm going to ring my midwife again tomorrow and ask again because i had to call NHS direct and she didn't have a sodding clue.

Had the same at 14 weeks but landed on my bum.

Was under the care of a consultant who recommended 48 hours of bed rest.

The baby I was pregnant with is now an eye rolling 14 year old!!!

CatPatrol · 19/08/2018 17:47

Yes, do go in and ask if you can have a blood test to rule out a fetomaternal haemorrhage.

Bringonspring · 19/08/2018 17:48

Had the same at 17 weeks and landed on my belly. I went for a private scan and fine, they said before I was even scanned that it would be fine-so well protected. It was all fine.

I had a fall from a horse. A big cantering horse. At 14 weeks. Baby is 8 now. But. If there’s a risk of rhesus incompatibility then I’d probably go in to maternity triage ASAP. Or possibly a&e. If this is your first pregnancy (no previous miscarriage, still birth or love birth), I believe it’s not an issue but don’t rely on me as I might be very wrong.

Sadly, at 14 weeks, there’s not much you can do if things go wrong. Although the top of your uterus is now just above the pelvic rim, the foetus itself is still pretty well protected, so there’s a good chance All will be ok.

Always get checked out if you are worried.

minilemonade · 20/08/2018 14:18

Phoned again today and apparently now I do need the jab. Definitely depends who you speak to I think! Going down later today x

Glad you phoned again & they are going to see you today x

minilemonade · 20/08/2018 17:53

Yeah I'm glad I did. NHS direct are helpful but they don't always have the right information. Today I managed to speak to a midwife and they were much more helpful

And we're all good! Had my jab and listened to the heartbeat. All looking fine :)

Glad to hear all is ok, at least your mind will be at rest now too Smile

Hopehope20 · 22/08/2018 18:25

Good news 😀. From 12 weeks you will need the jab for any knock or fall as well as any bleeding (even spotting) x
