Does anyone get this thing with their ears?

Hope I'm not alone, it's too weird. At least every other day one of my ears feels like it's plugged up and my voice echos in my head - loudly - as does my breathing. It's rrrrreally annoying. I can swallow and do everything I would normally to unplug my ear but nothing works. Sometimes it goes away after a few minutes, sometimes it plagues me off and on all day.

Anyone?

Also, anyone else fainting much?

I think you need to go and get your ear syringed. It sounds like it's blocked with wax.

Fainting a lot would suggest either low sugar or low blood pressure or maybe anemia - i'd have a chat with your midwife on that. Regarding the ears being blocked, maybe there's some ear wax in there that needs to come out. You could get them syringed or use those ear drops - have a chat with your pharmacist about the best ones.

And also causing the fainting...

I had the ear thing through both of my pregnancies -its really annoying isn't it?

I mentioned it at the time to the MW/GP who just said its one of those things, it will go and it did.

Yeah, I just looked online, has to do with swollen nasal tissue blocking the tube, totally normal. ugh.

I was checked already for the fainting thing. low blood pressure was diagnosed, no anemia. can't have been low sugar, I had just finished dinner this last time.

just wondering how common it is?

My friend had fainting a lot in her first pg and it was low blood pressure, think she just had to take it a bit easy - like anyone can actually do that!!! I know my nasal passages have been worse and they are now already but I haven't had the ears thing. If it's really bothering you then defo look to get them unblocked. I tell you what I've always fancied doing - those ear candles. You put them in your ear and then they draw everything out - simple & doesn't involve anything to horrible going in your ear!! Think you can get them from most health food stores.

Diva, i've got exactly the same problem. Didn't experience anything like this with ds, but over the past couple of weeks there's been occasions when i've felt like my ears are full of liquid, and my voice is booming in my head!

DivaSkyChick · 04/06/2007 14:13

Ohhh I've always wanted to do the ear candle thing, too. Only I've been afraid to set my hair on fire!

has anyone done this? ear candle, not hair on fire!

Ear candles are great! I ordered them from a website and DH and I used them at home - it's not really that gross, in that you don't see much of the wax being drawn out of the ear, but you do need someone else to hold the candle upright while you have your head on one side and the candle's lit!

(It's not really a candle either but more of a narrow cone).

You can also get the treatment done properly - I know my yoga centre does it - I think it's called Hopi Ear Candling???!!

I posted a while back about the same ear problem. It's sooo annoying. I'm afraid it's one of those pg things we can't do much about. The only thing that seems so relieve it for me is drinking loads mainly in the morning, and lying down. But it can sometimes go on for the whole day. Only 3 weeks of this to go for me though
