As the title says really - any recommendations for good pregnancy books for a first timer?

The Positive Birth Book by Milli Hill.

It has more of a focus on labour and birth choices but it is extremely informative yet easy to digest and dip in and out of.

“Expecting Better” by Emily Oster - really good guide to what evidence there is for all the advice women are given in pregnancy and what is safe.

Have just ordered what to expect when you're expecting, interested to find out some other good books tho

I'm currently reading 'How to grow a baby...and push it out' by Clemmie Hooper. It's written in a informative yet fun way and it isn't too big, in fact I've already read it all and I'm only 20 weeks. She's a midwife and has 4 children of her own.
I've also just got 'What to expect when you're expecting- the first year.' Although most of it is not necessarily relevant to pregnancy, the first few sections are dedicated to feeding (formula and breast) and how to dress baby, things to buy etc so certainly worth reading before baby arrives. Then I would assume I'll read more as time goes on!

Oooh also Bump by Kate Evans. Beautiful book.

I second the recommendation for 'Expecting Better' by Emily Oster. She's an economist (if I remember correctly) and I found her common sense and objective look at various risks/common pregnancy advice very refreshing.

@Noodles14 I'm reading that too and really enjoying it. She's had a bit of a tough time with the whole Insta Mum debate but the books great so far. I also bought one called 'Bumpology' on Amazon which seems good. X

I really like Bump by Kate Evans as well.

Also The Rough Guide to Pregnancy and Birth by Kaz Cooke.

For a childbirth one the best one I've read is Birth Skills by Juju Sundin.
