Exhaustion can’t get through a day without napping

Hi all just wanted to see how people are coping with exhaustion?! I’m 38+6 and for the last few days literally have been sleeping for England! I have Okish sleeps on the night from around 10.30 - 7.30 but get up for wee breaks at least 4 times!! I get up and out of bed by 8 but then I have a nap from 9-10 (have just done this again today!) I have developed carpal tunnel syndrome (constant pins and needles in hands) and this is making even small tasks like opening bottles a struggle dp has to do them for me. As I’m writing this it does seem more of a moan so apologies, feel free to join haha! I just thought with baby imminent I’d have more energy and want to get things straight household wise but this can’t be further from what I’m experiencing:(

I'm a week behind you and pretty tired too. I work for myself from home and am trying to keep working one more week but it is a struggle and some days I take two naps. I don't even feel guilty about it anymore as some people will already have been on mat leave for ages at this point. Sometimes I sleep through with just one wee break and sometimes I'm wide awake at 4am or 5am. I also have carpal tunnel which is a pain, have tried putting frozen peas on the swollen joints but it doesn't seem to help. Still waiting for the burst of energy to happen but not holding my breath! Nesting for me has been paying for a professional deep clean and doing lots of batch cooking. Don't worry, wont be long now, hopefully our hands will get back to normal quickly after the babies arrive. Might still be knackered though!

Don’t blame you. I’m about a week behind you and I’ve just hit my limit. The nesting instinct is nowhere to be found! My arse is being dragged between the bed and the sofa where I can work on my laptop. Even my brain feels foggy and tired.

Honestly, enjoy the guilt-free napping while you can. As long as you’ve packed your hospital bag there’s really not much else that’s essential at this stage. It’s nice to get the house clean etc, but honestly it’s not the end of the world if you don’t have everything perfect!

Enjoy it whilst it lasts! I'm 39+2 with a non-napping 2 year old to look after as her CM is away for the summer. We have a good 90 minute stretch on the sofa every day where I lie down with my legs wrapped round her and she gets telly time. Was so much easier to get a good nap in bed last time!

I'm a week behind you and also really struggling with carpal tunnel - mine isn't pins and needles, it's swelling and stiffness and really bloody hurts. I'm doing nothing more than a bit of batch cooking but had to dedicate today to doing nothing as I just feel knackered. Hoping it's totally normal!

Just about to have a nap! I'm 34 weeks, god knows how exhausted I'd be if at work right now. Thank goodness for summer holidays! I've got sciatica and I'm doing some serious waddling around!

Ah glad to hear it’s not just me! I only finished work last Friday so I’m trying not to feel guilty about sleeping in the day but then I think about all the things I haven’t done yet just makes me cringe ! My hands are really hurting me, I mentioned it to mw today but she couldn’t offer a lot of advice just that it should disappear when I’ve had the baby :(
