Pregnant & Freaking Out A Bit (Ok, a lot...)

Hello everyone,

I have been lurking for a little while, but this is my first post.

I think I'm about 5-6 weeks pregnant at the moment (I've done 4 tests; 2 early response ones which looked positive-ish, then 2 digital Clear Blue ones which both said 'pregnant'). But to say I'm clueless about everything is an understatement.

I've made an appointment to see my GP but it's not until the 3rd Sept which seems an incredibly long time to wait.

I've had symptoms like morning sickness, needing to pee a lot, being very, very tired, but today everything (except maybe the tiredness) has disappeared - including the morning sickness. Is that normal? I've had it every day for about a week to 10 days and now it's gone. (I must be the only woman ever to worry about not feeling sick!)

I'm feeling very anxious as, although this is not a bad thing, the timing is not exactly perfect. I'm not married to my partner but we've been together 12 years and have a house, mortgage and run a business together. However, we've recently been going through a very rough patch (another understatement; a third party was/is involved) and this has come along at the worst time possible. I have told him and to be fair he's been very supportive, although quite shocked and surprised. (I thought he might have run for the hills) so that's adding to my anxiety.

Thank you. x

Hi firstly congratulations! I’m 20weeks with an unplanned baby, the worst timing ever as I’m halfway through a university course.
I’m not going to sugar coat it Those first weeks up until 12w scan were a horrible time for me. The anxiety I felt was incredible but I promise it goes away.
After finding out I cried for 3 weeks solid didn’t know how to feel about it then I had a bleed and I knew instantly that if I had a miscarriage I’d be heartbroken and when all was fine I felt Instant relief.
I didn’t see my gp went direct to midwife and saw her first at 9 weeks that’s about the same time you’ll be seeing yours. Some women find the symptoms come and go, mine certainly did. One day I felt so sick and the next nothing. If your not having any miscarriage symptoms such as pain and bleeding please try and not worry although I understand that’s not easy.
I’m really hoping this settles your mind a little x

I'm in a similar situation with an unplanned pregnancy in a rocky relationship (also involving 3rd party among other things). I was pretty sure at the beginning that I wnated to terminate, but then had a miscarriage scare and realised how disappointed I would have been. That made me realise I did want the baby. Unfortunately my partner did not feel the same so the first 20 weeks or so was pretty much hell. I kept scans, screenings, etc. from him and eventaully he came to accept I wasn't going to terminate. I wouldn't say he's enthusiastic now, but he is accepting that it is happening and is more involved with buying things, etc. He still worries he is going to be detatched and resent the baby. So do I, for that matter. We are staying together for now, but I can't see our relationship lasting forever.

Thank you @harrypotterfan1604 - that does help a bit! I was worried that the symptoms seem to arrive and disappear abruptly.

And thank you too @Liz3891 - I'm so sorry to hear about your situation with your partner. It's very hard (I know!) but (do as I say not as I do!) you need to think about yourself first and what you want and need. I hope it all works out the way you want it to.
