Hello ladies, I have been told this is a common symptom, but I am a bit worried as I am quite early still - 5/6 weeks, isn't this just too early for the baby to have any sort of impact on my bladder? Confused

I doubt it's a UTI as I don't feel any pain. Also I have a tilted uterus - might that be relevant? Hmm

Hey hun, peeing is one of the first symptoms we get next to sore boobs and nausea after a missed period so it's not too early to experience that.

What I can say however is I was just diagnosed with a uti and I had no pain but found it hard to pass urine and had lower back pain. I was shocked when my midwife caught it during a routine check as I had no idea! I would speak to your GP just incase more for your own comfort, pregnant women are more prone to uti's especially with how hot it has been lately.

Congratulations on your baby bean Flowers

Thanks @Vampyress! Smile I have my first GP check next Tuesday so I will ask then. It's helpful (and reassuring) to know other people had this very early too!

I’m also just over 5 weeks and am needing to pee with ridiculous frequency but then struggling to get much out! I think it’s normal, uterus already growing and pressing on the bladder.

I had this at 5-6 weeks with no UTI. Like you I have a tilted uterus and think that may have been exacerbating it.
I would see a GP regardless as if it is a UTI it needs treating.

It could be a UTI, you don't always get the pain symptoms. If you don't want to take a whole doctor's appointment you can get home test strips from a pharmacy but I wouldn't wait until Tuesday as UTIs can be quite dangerous to pregnancy if left untreated, plus you're more likely to get one in pregnancy.

That said this does come with pregnancy for me and isn't a UTI but it doesn't usually start happening until later on.

Welcome to pregnancy!! This is common in the first trimester due to hormonal changes, eases off a bit in the second trimester and then returns (with a vengeance in my case) in the third trimester due to pressure from the baby.

Worth getting checked out for a uti just in case but is common even at that stage
