How much weight have you gained ?
I can’t stop thinking about it - which shocks me cause with my first pregnancy I didn’t care !
However my mum passed away when I was 22 weeks last time and i think I just comfort ate. I went huge.
Now I’m 25 weeks and feeling conscious !

I'm 32 weeks and have put on about 4 pounds from pre pregnancy weight. Lost weight at the start from sickness so am about 12 pounds up from lowest pregnancy weight. Last two pregnancies I was 1.5 stone up at the end of both from pre pregnancy weight but lost at the start of both so I expect this to be the same.

My start weight each pregnancy was between 9st 10lb-10st. I gained 4 stone the first two pregnancies and I've gained 4 already in this one and I'm only at 31 weeks. Seems I'm alone in this extreme weight gain Blush

I'm 20 weeks and put on 5Ib but think half of that is the fact I've eaten crap for the last month or so...but back to the healthy eating now Grin

24 weeks and exactly the same weight but I was BMI 29 when I fell pregnant.
Only gained about a stone over all in first pregnancy and lost loads of weight post pregnancy.

I gained 2 stone with my first - but don't worry about what the scales say, it's how you feel thats important! x

Can't remember exactly how much I gained, because my 2 pregnancies are now ancient history! However, I was determined not to get fat, because I am vain, don't like dieting and had to get back in my work suits quite quickly.

I found a "your pregnancy this week" website which had an acceptable weight gain calculator, and made sure I never for exceeded the guideline weight gain; I just ate normally, but made sure I got enough lean protein and vegetables. I was back to my pre pregnancy weight a few days after the birth, as soon as the extra fluid had gone.

I guess this is what people like the Duchess of Cambridge do. Before I get flamed for being smug/insensitive, I would add that I accept that I started from a good position- no food issues, tall and slim to start with, no psychiatric or social issues. (save that I was doing a very demanding, long hours job and worked very close to my due date).

In the absence of any problems, you just need to realise that your body needs only a few extra calories per day -you'll need to check, but I think it's about 80- to have a healthy pregnancy. If you are able to manage that, your weight should look after itself.

Forgot to add, v little morning sickness either.

Bowlofbabelfish · 08/08/2018 10:59

Morning sickness does make a difference I think. The only things I’ve managed to keep down have been quite simple carbs for months. I am usually a healthy eater but couldn’t face veg at all, or meat, for months.

Have just been weighed today and 6.7kg total since pre pregnancy (probably about 10kg from booking appt but I’d been vomiting for weeks by then and had lost a few kg) almost at due date, so that’s not too bad.

I think sickness makes a difference. I’m unable to eat much still and with DS1 I had hyperemesis too. I honestly can’t imagine feeling like eating much in pregnancy, as the thought of food turns my stomach.

All I can eat is fruit, fish, plain bread and salty chips. That’s about it and I can only eat tiny amounts of any.
