I havent slept and it is now 5am. Insomnia at 33wks preg is great, so this is the reason for this post.
I have been MN reading posts for about 3 hours out of sheer boredom. I couldnt get noticing and getting extremely angry over the constant patronising and utterly rude comments people have left when someone has asked a question.
Women should be supporting and empowering each other. Not criticising them for asking for help and advice.

You may think a questions is so stupid that only a 4 year old would ask it.. well thats what a brain surgeon would think of your questions about brain surgery.

My point being: everyone who needs to take a pregnancy test is at the very first stage of the pregnancy and motherhood journey. And all mothers are at this stage at some point. Dont forget you was asking questions that seemed trivial to experienced MN users at one point too.

Please be kind and support the ladies that just need some reassurance because they may then get too scared to post again when really needed. Even posts as simple as "how does the baby come out" or "am i pregnant" reassurance goes a long way

I have found Mumsnet to be the least supportive site but the most entertaining. It’s a shame really, if it were more supportive it would have it all.

Yes i only tend to read myself. And it is probably the lack of sleep talking but it really annoyed me how patronising people were being to those who actually wanted some help 🙁

Unfortunately I've found whenever I post for every nice genuinely helpful response there's many many pretty nasty responses.

It's very difficult to ignore the bad comments, and they really get in your head when you're probably at your most vulnerable.

I learnt very quickly this really isn't the place to post if you are looking for support, which is a shame, it's why I joined in the first place.

Big mistake

Someone will be along soon to tell you to pop off to NetMumsHmm
I agree Op, however if you can manage to ignore the posters who seem to enjoy stirring the shit, you will find some genuinely helpful and supportive people out there. But yes it is such a shame that the keyboard warriors think they are clever by posting intentionally goady comments.
What really winds me up is when the OP has posted for support and then other posters have a massive argument amongst themselves over something, which is usually not helping the OP at all.
MN does make me laugh though and has taught me lots over the years.

The ones that are nasty do have shit lives if that makes you feel any better!

Toomanyslippers · 05/08/2018 08:01

Totally agree OP. People come on here for genuine help & support yet a lot of posters are just nasty and seem to enjoy putting people down. It's awful. I'd love to see how these people interact in day to day life, they must lead very lonely miserable existences!

K0013 · 05/08/2018 08:11

People like that should be ashamed of themselves but I am hoping that for every sad person like that there is at least double the amount of nice people who are happy to support each other.
