Breast Feeding Friendly Clothes

Anyone any recommendations for breastfeeding friendly clothes?

It will be a winter baby so ideally jumpers / long sleeved tops.

Specifically any recommendations for brands which aren't also maternity clothes?

Always done 1 up 1 down (wore vest top under clothes) before but would love to treat myself to some nice bits which would allow me to not have to wear multiple layers the whole time.

Just not sure where to start.

Have you seen the Facebook group Can I Breastfeed in it UK? They also have a selling page as well. Loads of great ideas in there. I’m a big fan of h and m for specific nursing clothes. And there’s also happy mama boutique who do some great jumpers and things at a fairly decent price. I’m also a fan of frugi who recently had a sale which may still be on due to national breastfeeding week.

MOst breastfeeding clothes work on the one-up one-down double layer principle, so personally I wouldn't bother!

I got some lovely bits from Gap when I first had DD. They fit really well and my personal favourite is one that you can hardly tell it’s a nursing top as the flap is so well concealed.

I second the advice to have a look on Can I Breastfeed in it? On Facebook if you’re on there. Loads of stuff you’d never think of!

I just lift my top up! The baby hides your stomach anyway and then you can wear high waist leggings/jeans/skirts. Means you can wear normal clothes which tend to be a bit more flattering than nursing specific stuff which is always expensive and always seems to have random flap bits.

I've just ordered a few bits from frugi in their 70% for bf week. I've had some summer dresses from them and they've been great quality. I'll have to see how they work after baby is here though as a lot of maternity clothes that are also for bf aren't very flattering.

I like h and m nursing clothes also. They are pretty reasonable and you can try them on.

Thanks for the replies.

I saw the Frugi sale and whilst I love their clothes for the kiddies I really didn't like to many bits and not worth ordering for just one top Blush

Il check out H and M and also keep an eye out for the new season Frugi maybe.

Thank You Smile

Chico Jack's do breastfeeding hoodies. I'm due in Jan so thinking that might be a good investment. I generally find the one up / one down method with normal clothes is a good option for feeding in colder weather. TBH a lot of normal clothes are perfectly possible to feed in.

I have several of the slogan tees from Mama Feels Good. They're double layered and come in short or long sleeve varieties, and they're popular enough that they re-sell really well second hand.
