How many tests did you take after your BFP?

Happy weekend everyone! Smile

I tested positive on FRER on Monday (and on Clearblue digital on Tuesday) but my first "official" check up is not until August 14th. I am wondering whether in the meantime I should keep testing to make sure the lines get darker and everything is fine? The Boots cheapos are quite terrible so I would get FRER, but they are quite expensive, so I am feeling like wasting money? How many did you take? I don't know if I am being paranoid Grin

I did 6 and then realised I was being ridiculous and stopped. I did do one before my first midwife appointment though just to make sure I was actually still pregnant!

I did 3 altogether, 2 that night and 1 the next morning, then stopped.

I did a digital so husband couldn’t argue with it, then one more internet cheapie just for the thrill of seeing that second line again!

I didn’t know ‘line progression’ was a thing and I’m glad - from what I see on here it can cause much undue worry.

I’ve done 3 so far and I’m waiting on the weeks clearblue one coming through the post. I had two previous mcs and the last one the lines were getting fainter. I don’t recommend doing lots of tests either as it’s turned me into a maniac lol, I need someone to stop me peeing on sticks until my reassurance scan next week.

None

I did one more test after the BFP with DS1 - purely because I got half a line (assume strip was faulty/damaged) so wanted to be 100% it actually was a BFP.

None after the test I did with DS2.

You can drive yourself round the bend squinting at tests trying to decide if a line is darker than yesterdays, then panicking if it isn't. There's no point unless there is a genuine medical concern, in which case blood tests would be needed anyway I would think.

At least 3 a week, cheap ones from the same pack, with occasional week number digitals. I'm 8 weeks, I've known since 4 and a bit. I'm not sure why I'm doing it any more. Habit?

TinyMarie · 04/08/2018 16:29

I did 2, the second one a day after the first. I had no reason to as my periods are really regular and I knew, I just wanted to see it again I suppose!

Thanks everyone! I managed to resist the temptation of testing again... I'm being goooood GrinHalo

About a 100 - IVF pregnancy and just loves watching the line getting darker and darker! It was very reassuring!!

kikibo · 05/08/2018 10:29

Two because there was only one pregnancy test left in the pack. 😊

Then had scan at 4 weeks + a few days, 6 weeks and 8 weeks. I wasn't fussed (if it had gone wrong, I'd have known about it), but we're not in the UK. I suppose obs like looking that early, because usually they don't have the opportunity. Though it's amazing seeing it grow from an inconspicuous bubble into a baby-shaped blob.

Baby160P · 05/08/2018 19:18

I took quite a few and when my symptoms slowed I did another which showed a faint line. Completely panicked myself and booked another scan and baby was fine.

It's called the hook effect apparently the tests can only detect until the HGC levels reach a certain point and then they can't handle the amount and show faint.

Wish I never did it as scared myself!
