Due to fly on a holiday I had booked before I found out I was pregnant.. will be 9 weeks..

Everything I’ve read online seems to suggest it is safe.. anyone done the same and any advice?

I did with first pregnancy. Get compression socks, make sure you walk around the cabin. My morning sickness was terrible, smells of food didn't help, so be prepared! You will be fine.

I flew in week 10 to Sri Lanka with my first child. It was fine. Just made sure I got up and hada wander and kept hydrated, as you would with any flight.
Enjoy your holiday!

I flew at 7 weeks and home at 9 weeks.
Had awful morning sickness so it was a nightmare but safe to fly!
Have fun!

I flew for two pre-planned trips when I was 9 and 14 weeks pregnant. Gp assured me it was absolutely safe to do so. I had water and snacks ready to stave off nausea and booked an aisle seat near the front for easier access to the toilets (which wasn't actually an issue in the end). Would recommend buying a pair of compression socks, my legs swelled a bit on the way over so I got some for the way back and they really helped. Chances are you'll be absolutely fine Smile

How long is the flight? I travel with work and flew weekly from day 1 right up to week 32 no issues at all. Just get an aisle seat as you will be up to the loo all the time Wink

Thank you all!! @mumontherunn I am flying to Cyprus so it’s about 4.5 hours roughly!! Xxx

I'm flying at 31 weeks next week! No reason it shouldn't be safe.

Namechange128 · 01/08/2018 12:07

No reason why not. I had to fly every fortnight until 28 weeks including some long haul, worried a bit about radiation but the doctors all said absolutely fine. I got prescribed compression socks because of the amount I flew, but shorter haul the over the counter ones should be fine. It's really not a long time or a big deal. Some people worry because they tell cabin crew not to fly - but that's because of the huge amount of time they spend in the air plus the liability risk.
If you are getting morning sickness, make sure you get an aisle seat and bring some extra bags in case.

LemonScentedStickyBat · 01/08/2018 12:10

Yes, long haul. All was fine!

Purplestorm83 · 01/08/2018 12:19

I flew at 20 weeks, 4 hour flight, was absolutely fine.

Celebelly · 01/08/2018 12:24

Yep, I flew out on holiday at 8 weeks and back at 9. No issues with flight at all and it's perfectly safe. Enjoy!

mumofmunchkin · 01/08/2018 12:40

I'm flying at the weekend, at 18 weeks, on a 9 hour flight. Midwife said it's absolutely fine, just wear flight socks, drink lots of water, and keep getting up to walk around (going to the loo mostly, probably).

surreygirl1987 · 01/08/2018 20:06

Completely safe and no different to flying when you're non pregnant unless you have bad morning sickness. I have flown throughout my whole pregnancy from around 7 weeks up to currently 31 and no issues.

Shmithecat · 01/08/2018 20:09

I flew from Saudi to New York, New York to Miami, then back again between 10 and 13 weeks. You'll be fine!

Merrz · 01/08/2018 20:12

I flew long haul (1 hour then 8 hour flight esch way) at 12 and 14 weeks, all absolutely fine.
