Hi ladies,

I have a love of traditional baby clothes, royal baby style, Peter Pan collars etc, you get the idea!

so aside from Trotters and Rachel Riley where else do you recommend, all budgets. Even instagram boutiques etc as they are popping up all the time!

Thanks x

John Lewis heritage collection. Some mothercare lines have a similar feel. Also Jojo maman Bebe have some dungarees sets with that kind of look

I found some lovely old fashioned knitwear and a few smocked things on etsy for my dds - you do need to trawl through some (ahem) interesting design choices and the pricing is wildly variable, but good if you have 30 mins to spend. Also most sellers will happily remake designs in different colours and yarns. Don't limit yourself to UK, there's some nice stuff from overseas if you can wait for shipping. You can also often find old patterns and make them yourself if you are craftily inclined.

Do learn from my mistakes - I love old fashioned heavy pure cotton and pure wools, but the modern versions are all way more washable, soakable and don't desperately need ironing, in the early months and every day wear it makes a big difference! Also - the nappy fastenings at the back of old (or old style designs) look cute but are totally unhelpful for modern back sleepers, and cardigans are always better than jumpers for babies, so much easier.

When I was in Mothercare they had loads of heritage stuff in the sale. Nice little dresses, sets and cardigans. Or you could take up knitting or embroidery!
