For the last week or 2 ive started itching all over, the itching is mild and i cant see any rashes. Of course when i google maknly what comes up is obstetric choleostatis which is a serious issue.

Has anyone had itching all over and it just have been normal. I notice im slightly more itchy at night.

You can have itching just down to the heat, or skin stretching - but it's always worth checking out. Let your midwife know and get the LFT blood test.

I'm itchy itchy all over all the time. Well I was until last week. I've had this in previous pregnancies too. It feels like little beasties under my skin. I've scratched and scratched until my skin has bled. Anyway, I went to doc and midwife and they both said it can be a reaction to the increased oestrogen and progesterone. In my last pregnancy I was prescribed cetrizine ( anti hestamine 2x per day) it didn't disappear completely but made it much more manageable, and my little boy was born at 42 wks 9.5 and completely healthy. This time, they said no to the antihestimines as they are apparently no longer safe. I was at my wits end, no sleep and crying. I looked at NHS website which says cetrizine fine. I decided to take it and now I'm much much better. 💕🍀

Also been checked for obstetric choleostatis and its definitely not that. The anti hestimines are working and the relief is fantastic! 🍀💕

I developed itchy legs in pregnancy, turned out to be an underactive thyroid. Had bloods for that and liver function, and turned out to be the thyroid. Worth mentioning to your GP/midwife.

You need to talk to your midwife about it and get checked for obstetric choleostatis.
It can be serious, and you don't want to take that chance. You need to rule it in or out as a priority.

I had cholestasis, only slightly but was still treated for it. That started of with itching. They do a simple blood test to rule it out. Prob isnt, but worth getting checked out as it can be dangerous in the later stages of pregnancy

Yes- so, so itchy. Realised it wasn't normal when I met with other pregnant ladies and none of them were experiencing it. Got checked out (and baby) and completely fine, thank goodness. Definitely get checked though or you won't know if baby is okay or needs monitoring.
