34 weeks, Transverse lie

Hello,

So I've just had my 34 week GP check up and he thinks the baby is in the transverse position. At all previous appointments MW and GP have thought the baby was head down.

He said there was plenty of time for the baby to turn, but having looked online I'm seeing that it's best to get baby to turn sooner rather than later while in the third trimester, and that it gets harder to turn them the bigger they get?

I really want to avoid a c section. This is my first pregnancy. Has anyone else had experience of baby turning after this point, and how?

Hi
Im in the same position
Infact I started a thread a few days back lol

Baby has been transverse a while. I can feel his head up and his body across most of the time depends on his position etc

They still have time to move but is getting more unlikely each day I think

My baby is measuring big too so harder for him to move

Do you have a scan arranged for 36 weeks?

Get midwife to check.... They're much more used to feeling baby positioning that a GP is :-) someone in my NCT group had this happen at 38 weeks, went for a scan to confirm (scan was the same day) and baby was head down after all!!

I don't have a scan arranged. My MW 36 week appointment is in 2 weeks, so hopefully the baby will have turned by then and they'll arrange a scan if not. Will try spinning babies techniques between now and then...

And yes, I was thinking the MW would be more experienced than the GP in this area and hoping that maybe he's just got it wrong!

I am 31 weeks, and baby has been breech at previous 2 appointments. I’m doing the spinning baby daily activities every day. I’ve got a presentation scan booked for 36 weeks. If he’s still breech at 34 weeks also going to go and see an acupuncturist for moxibustion and a chiropractor who has had Webster technique training, as both of these things can help encourage correct presentation.

Mine has been alternating between breech, head down (fleetingly) and transverse throughout the whole 2nd and 3rd trimesters. At just under 34 week he was transverse oblique I talked with midwife about options if he doesn’t go head down....so I got a surprise when I went for a growth scan at 34+3 and he was head down!
I’m now 35+1 and he’s still head down. He has honestly been breech 80% of the time, I mean he may well turn again but I’ve been convinced I’d be having a section up until this week! Baby can move at any time and it doesn’t really matter about size - baby’s can flip in labour so size is kind of irrelevant I think!
