So this is my 3rd pregnancy I'm 13 weeks gone and for last 3 weeks the sickness has gone to a whole new level. I literally can't keep anything down. If I eat it is back up and down the toilet within 10 minutes. For instance this morning I had a glass of cold water and one malted milk biscuit. And all has come back up. I feel nauseous all day long. And if I've not eating I just end up spewing up my stomach lining which is horrible. I know it is getting bad now as I went for a doc apt on Thursday and they weighed me. And I've weighed myself this morning and lost 5 pounds in 4 days....I cudnt get into my doctors today and have to try ring again in morning Sad anyone else in the same position

I think you need to ring 111 and see whether you can be seen anywhere else. Failing that, does your hospital have an early pregnancy assessment unit that you could contact for advice? Your doctor should be able to prescribe something to reduce / stop the sickness. If you aren't keeping down fluids you are likely to be dehydrated and in this heat you need the fluids more than ever.

The early pregnancy unit round by me will now only speak to you if u have been referred by a gp. Which is odd as never use to be that way. I know the 111 will send me to walk in clinic and I will be sat in their for hours throwing up in a hot and stuffy building is not what I want right now really. God I just don't know what to do

That's ridiculous! Can you phone GP and explain? Phone midwife? I had sickness early on (not as bad) and I used the travel bands and they really helped! Worth a shot if you're really struggling. Hopefully it eases off soon x

Theres a charity called pregnancy sickness support they have a helpline you can ring to see if theres a hyperemesis unit near you

I was given medication and it really helped for all of my pregnancies. It was called Zofran and its chemical name is ondansetron. Sounds like you are in need of it

I had HG for until I was 23 weeks (still have it now but is much easier thankfully than it was). You have my sympathy 100%, it is very tough to live feeling so unwell day after day after day. Ondansetron is an option but NHS more likely to start with something like cyclizine, prochlorperazine, metoclopramide. Some of these will work well for one person but not help the next person so it's really important to keep going until you find sometimes that works for you.

The group on here "Hyperemesis support" got me through. Honestly. Just so good to have people who understand exactly how flipping AWFUL you feel 24/7. Imagine having food poisoning for weeks?! That's what you're living with.

I really hope it passes soon for you :-) let us know how you're getting on Flowers

Well I've just been up to the local walk in clinic. And honestly I could have punched the doctor. So unhelpful. On top of all this I have a uti. And he's telling me to drink loads of fluid. Which kind of defeats the object that I can't keep it down Angry he has prescribed me antibiotics and prochlorperazine as I have already tried the cycizine and that does nothing for me. Hoping this helps a bit as I feel awful and already have 3 kids at home to look after Sad

Glad you at least have the antibiotics and sickness drugs. I find it absolutely shocking the response from some healthcare professionals about severe morning sickness. Honestly it may be worth writing a polite note to the practice about him doing some more training on hyperemesis and how it affects every single aspect of your whole life and can also affect your mental wellbeing as you feel so flipping horrendous.

Not in a complaint/rant way but he needs to learn to listen to pregnant women with Hyperemesis. Could help someone in the future.

Prochlorperazine helped me a lot so I hope it helps you too :-) keep us updated :-)
