What is your diet like? Are you eating a lot of simple carbs or sugary foods?

Not really no, I'm a slimming worlder xx

I always had sugar in my urine during my 1st pregnancy. They never tested for GD as I had no risk factors, my midwife never mentioned it was anything to worry about. I wouldn’t worry about it if you’ve passed GTT.

Hi,
I also has glucose in urine but passed the GTT test. Pregnancy was fine just ended up with a large baby. What has your midwife said?

PirateWeasel · 23/07/2018 15:44

Sugar is in all sorts of non-treaty things, as I discovered after my midwife referred me for a gtt. I've been scoffing "healthy" granola bars at work every day thinking yay, I'm getting fruit and nuts and good stuff. Turns out each bar has 16g sugar! 😱 Feel like such a wally. Never even thought to check! Fruit juice is another culprit. Ooops!

Watch your carb intake with SW. Rice, pasta, potatoes etc can all drive up your blood sugar levels. I assume in this heat you’re probably living off salad though 😂

Are you staying hydrated? Remember that you’ll need more than usual in pregnancy and this weather :)

Just a little update, I was diagnosed at GD at 34 weeks despite passing my 28week GTT xx

When you saying passing your gtt, can I ask what your numbers were. Mine came back as borderline and I have been having to monitor my blood sugar levels for four weeks because they say the baby is large.
I’m finding it stressful. Have they put you on a special diet or are your drug managed?
