35 weeks and forgot to have my whopping cough vaccine

...will it still be effective?

With my first dc I'm sure I had it at 30 weeks, following an appointment with my midwife at 28 weeks when she told me to book in for it.

This time around I haven't seen my midwife since 18 weeks as I've had numerous consultant appointments instead. So I'd completely forgot about getting it done tbh.

I booked it in on Friday for tomorrow, but I've just been reading online that I should have had it from 16 weeks onwards.

Is there any point in me still having it tomorrow?

You can still have it up until you go into labour, but after 32 weeks it's less effective and might not directly protect your baby.

Oh shit, I just realised I haven’t had mine either. Bugger.

Still gives quite a bit of protection - part of the aim of doing it so early is also to protect pre term babies, if you are looking like carrying to term you still have 5 weeks to go.

I'm having my c section in 4 weeks, so I hope it'll have enough time to work.
I feel so stupid.

I don’t know why they don’t book it into the normal list of appointments and the midwive gives so everyone just had automatically- so many people forget
