Cramps In Early Pregnancy?

Hi all
I am very early on in my first pregnancy, at 4+2.
I am in the process of trying to make a doctors appointment but because of the shortage of doctors in my area the waiting lists are quite long.

I am worried that something is wrong and this may be ectopic. Or maybe I've just been paying too much attention to doctor google.

The cramps I've been getting are intermittent and at times one one side.
When they are present, I would assess the pain at about 6/10.
I can still move around and function.
It feels like a very dull but reasonably strong ache.
The best way I can describe it is that it's like being punched in the stomach, but very lightly and very quickly.
*My questions are, what is a normal amount of pain? Did anyone have one sided pain and have a healthy pregnancy?
*
I will be getting into the doctors next week and asking him/her, but until then I was hoping you lovely ladies had some more anecdotal answers.
Thanks for reading x

@Bas27 I’m glad they’re investigating it, my fingers are crossed for you for this Friday that all is well.

I’m ok thanks. The tiredness and nausea has really kicked in this weekend, although I think the nausea is mostly acid reflux related. Still getting lots of cramps but nothing excruciating for a few days now so fingers crossed. I have my first midwife appointment on Wednesday so I’ll talk about it then xx

Hi Guys!
Just see you talking about cysts... just wanted to let you know I had something really similar about a month ago with really painful cramps and pains on my right side! I was probably about 5 weeks at that point... I also had some tiny spotting so I was really worried.
But, when went for an early scan at about 6 weeks, everything was healthy and they think the pain was coming from the cyst that had formed on my ovary to help support the baby!
Just wanted to share a positive story and hope you will be ok Smile
We are waiting for our next scan now on the 10th which will be our 12 week scan so trying to keep extra positive!

Just wanted to add I had quite strong cramps like period pains very early in all my three pregnancies. I assumed period was on the way. Midwife said its everything stretching. Good luck op.
