Hiya, just after some advice or others experiences please.
Currently 19 weeks pregnant, already have a DC.

With my first pregnancy i had an anterior placenta i think it is? And DS was very small, throughout the pregnancy I didn't feel a vast amount of movement and when I did, they were never the hard stabbing kicks people talk about. Still light prods even at 39 weeks.
I had an appointment with the midwife yesterday and she was very surprised I haven't felt baby kick yet, she said with a 2nd pregnancy you can feel movement from 15 weeks on wards.

Everything was OK at the 12 weeks scan, and she listened to the heartbeat but said to contact her again in 7 days if i still haven't felt any movements.
Should I be worried? This is very similar to my first pregnancy however midwife says I should definitely be feeling a lot more and a lot stronger this time round.

I posted about this exact thing on Monday so I totally understand your worries. I'm 18 weeks with my second baby and have been stressing for weeks that I should have been feeling more movements that I had, especially after reading all the stories about other women feeling movements with their later pregnancies earlier. I think it is unfair of your midwife to have said this to you as every woman and pregnancy is different and just because you have had a baby before, its no certainty that it will allow you to feel movements any earlier than you did with your first. My baby seems to have suddenly decided that a rave is acceptable in my tummy so I feel much calmer about the whole thing. Some of my friends have also told me that they didn't feel movements any earlier than they did with their first either. My midwife told me that they would only be concerned if no movements had been felt from 24 weeks although I'm aware that advice may vary from local authority to local authority.

A rave Grin
That must be lovely and reassuring!

Yeah it did seem a bit OTT as when I was pregnant first time round I didn't feel anything until 21 weeks, so wasn't expecting to feel anything from 15/16 weeks. I am a little concerned I haven't felt anything yet, but the heartbeat was fine yesterday.
Just worried there could be an underlying reason the midwife is concerned about that I should have asked about.

I would hope that if there was any other reason, your midwife would have told you. I think sometimes they can fail to consider that not every woman is the same, especially given you didn't feel anything in your first pregnancy till 21 weeks. I had a private scan a few weeks ago just to help put my mind at rest. It always feels so long between your 12 week and 20 week scans!

I am at 22w with my 2nd and didn't start to feel little movements- the ones where you say - not sure if that was baby or wind (sorry TMI lol) till 19 weeks.
He now uses me as a punchbag. However, i have an anterior placenta so that could be why I've not felt it.
I really wouldnt worry too much. X

Thank you for your replies, I thought that as well eyesontheprize57 hopefully she would have voiced the concerns she might have.
I'm hoping in the next week or two to start feeling something. I led in bed last night for two hours just trying to concentrate on feeling anything, but I'm trying not to worry.
Also with not feeling anything very strong in my first pregnancy, I'm not even sure what I should be feeling if that makes sense. DS's kicks were so light, like I say even full term they were still very faint.
