I have no idea how to describe this feeling other than I have this aching/feeling bruised feeling down below?! Hurts when I walk/waddle and is worse if I run (just a short distance, like 100 yds) it's almost like a grinding then?
Is this the fanny daggers that is talked about?
It started around 25 weeks and I'm now 28. It comes and goes a bit and isn't constant all the time.
I asked my midwife and she was as unhelpful as always - did suggest sending me for physio but by time i have got an appointment I will probably have had the baby!!!

Sounds pretty normal IME. I always thought of it as all that extra weight bearing down on your cervix.

I had similar with both my pregnancies (they don't tell you about the joy of it until you are!)

I saw physios regularly due to an ongoing condition and she said it was to do with stretching muscles across your pelvis and lower stomach. You can get support belts, I had a tubigrip that would have covered half of Scotland when stretched it out but it made a huge difference.

Try and support your bump when walking too.

It could be pelvic arthropathy OP. If it continues or gets worse, go back to your midwife or GP as you may need pain relief and physiotherapy.

Thanks all. @traceyturnblatt, did physio help?
Does it stop when baby comes?

@SJP164 physio did help, you have to follow their instructions though but I noticed the benefit.

Unfortunately with my second DS I ballooned to elephantine proportions so i couldn't wear the belt and ended up on crutches (due to my other condition) but they worked for my first DS until he was born

Could be SPD/pelvic girdle pain. Physio should be able to help.

Might be pelvic congestion and / or a vaginal varicose vein (horror!!!)

I’ve had both and can confirm it did go post birth, try wearing some tight knickers and put a rolled up flannel in the gusset, it will provide support for the area

SJP164 · 10/07/2018 14:15

Thanks again. Will take up physio, it can't hurt and also invest in a support band. I have a bump band that I bought to cover my jeans when I was doing the hairband trick, would this help or do I need something more supportive?
@bumbelinaaa omg a VVV sounds horrific!!! Thanks for the flannel tip, will give it a go

If it’s that bad, it might be worth pricing up private physio.
