Holiday in America

I’m flying to America in a couple of weeks, and I’ll be 25 weeks - flying home just before 28 weeks. Thanks to helpful ladies on here I’ve got travel insurance sorted, but what would happen if I were to have reduced movements or any concerns during this time? What is the protocol in the states? My hospital (Wexham Park) has been great and advised that if I have reduced movements here they would see me even though I’m before 28 week, so just want to know the process in the US! Anyone got any experience?

You could go to a hospital in America, but it'd be very expensive and may not be covered by your insurance, you'd have to call them before you went to check.

There's no 'protocol' as such in America as you won't have your own OBGYN there like you would if you lived over there. And if you did, youd just call them up if you had concerns. So you'd have to go to an ER.

I would Google urgent care facilities near where you will be going and then you would either have to go to one of those or to ER. Your insurance should cover you for both as it would be an emergency.

Please double check that maternity cover is included on your travel insurance. My friend needed to get checked out when she was over in the states on a trip and incurred a hefty bill as it wasn't covered by her policy. Sadly she had assumed it was without looking into it before she went.
