What can I do for it to be successful? I have FET booked for next week. I have asked my husband to take leave for a week so he can help look after our toddler. Is it a good idea to try to have as much bed rest as possible? Any ideas of why you think yours worked? I'm desperate for it work as age isnot on my side.

I'm pregnant following FET. My first pregnancy ever after 5 ivf cycles.

No to bed rest. You have to keep blood circulating to your uterus so lying in bed all day won't help.

Just do things as normal but nothing strenuous.

I know you've probably heard it before but if it's going to work then it will regardless of if you start rock climbing or sit still for the 2ww. I truly believe it's more to do with egg quality rather than anything else.

Good luck!!!!

Thank you. Congratulations on your pregnancy after all you have been through. I was very lucky to get pregnant the first time with IVF the first time but can't remember what I was doing around that time, other than I was far less tired without a little person!

Hi OP. I am 10 weeks after FET. This was our third transfer. Things I did differently this time were:

  1. Lots of vitamin supplements to support lining thickening and general health: B6, B12, C, D, E, omega 3, l-arginine, folic acid.
  1. Acupuncture for 4 weeks before treatment, during the progynova and Cyclogest days, and the day before and day of transfer (after transfer).
  1. Plenty of exercise before and during treatment up to the transfer but not during 2WW. As a previous poster said, exercise is important for blood flow.

Also no alcohol (and I don't smoke anyway).

On previous cycles I just took Pregnacare and didn't have acupuncture. It could be just a coincidence, but this time I got a BFP.

Good luck.

I'm 19 weeks after a FET. I echo the advice about keeping moving but not strenuous exercise - I did lots of walks in the 2ww.

Other advice the clinic gave me was no extreme temps on stomach - so short, not too hot showers rather than bath, no hot water bottles to ease cramps, and I've read others saying no ice cream in 2ww (though not sure about that one, imagine the cold has gone by the time it reaches your stomach!)

Thank you and congrats! Unfortunately I am suffering with bad plantar fasciitis (heel pain) for which I have been getting treatment for but made walking very difficult so I'm quite unfit. I do take pregnacare multi, coq10 and omega oil supplements. I also have weekly acupuncture and was told to go three days before transfer which is my usual Saturday appointment. I will forget about bed rest then!

Hey, I'm currently 11 weeks pregnant from my first round of IVF with FET (I feel exceptionally lucky!!).

I took two weeks off work just so I wouldn't be stressed, but other than that I pretty much carried on like normal. The day of transfer I went on a day out (nothing too crazy, just a bit of shopping etc) and everything worked well for me.

Good luck Smile

Good idea to take two weeks off. I'm just at home with my toddler but she is teething and we are not sleeping well so I'm worried about it not working. Will have to see.

Well I had the FET today. Two embryos out and I was told one had already started to hatch. It feels funny knowing they're there and from two years ago. I go get a blood pregnancy test in eight days. Fingers crossed.

Embryos in, not out!

Good luck! Not pregnant but my frostie is asleep next to me (10 months old). I worked full time and tried not to think too much - healthy eating and no caffeine/booze, gentle exercise (mainly walking), and tried to spend lots of time with close friends who knew what was going on and make me feel relaxed/happy.

I think it’s right though that it’ll either work or it won’t, and as long as you’re not chugging tequila and bungee jumping the outcome is really mostly luck - so sending loads and loads of luck your way! Flowers

Dalesgirl16 · 17/07/2018 22:19

Ah frostie! I love it! I hope I get one too. Thanks for the advice!

Yes, good luck!! I was convinced my frostie wouldn’t take - so much so that I almost completely disregarded the fact that i’d had a FET. Even took a paracetamol when I had a headache! Was amazed to get a bfp and my very feisty frostie is now 4 1/2.
I would advise nothing too strenuous, but as others have said keep moving so carry on as normal. Will keep everything crossed for you!

I'm 23 weeks pregnant after my first round of FET. My fresh embyro didn't take even though I did everything to ensure I was as healthy as possible. Just like @Chintaria I was so sure this round wouldn't work either (due to my age- I'm 40) that when I had implantation cramps I was convinced it was it was my period coming. The BFP was a complete shock!

I was unbelievably relaxed about FET (thinking, there's no way it'll work!) and I think that's partly why it DID work. I didn't feel as anxious as with the fresh embyro (when my anxiety was through the roof). I've also read several articles which state that FET success rates are higher than fresh transfer rates, due to a difference in the medical regimen in each (with FET not requiring egg collection, the effect takes less of a toll on the body).

My little frostie ( a boy!) is currently kicking away as I type! Smile
