Low lying placenta and transverse baby

Had a scan today and it shows baby is transverse head up, across my stomach.
Has been for a few weeks by the sounds of it.
One mw told me prob transverse as I have low lying placenta.

When I saw the consultant last they said if placenta is still low they will recommend a section.
I know baby still has time to move (31 weeks) but if baby stays the same with both 'things ' im defo going to need a section arent I?

If you had this at what gestation did you have a section? From what ive read the norm is 38 weeks?

Thank you

If you have a section they try and make you have it between 39 and 40 weeks. There are research studies that show this is best for reducing complications for the baby. However if you have to have it earlier they try and ensure you go over 37 weeks.(I think there are still a few hospitals where obstetricians believe c-sections should happen at 38 weeks.)

When is your next scan planned?

Thank you Blue for replying

My next scan is on thurs to double check placenta site as it was a Midwife sonogropher rather than a 'fully qualified ' one
Will be seeing the consultant straight after.

I was induced at 38 weeks last time due to reduced movements and to prevent further probs for me (he was 10lb and big babies higher risk of pph which I suffer from)

Once you have had the scan with the sonographer then the consultant can make suggestions to you. If you don't have any issues having a C-section then it may be worth you asking the consultant for an elective one if the sonographer indicates the baby looks big and you still have a low lying placenta. That way you know the date you will give birth and can make plans.

Thats what Im thinking, csection is most likely the safest way to deliver if placenta is still low.
Just worried about recovery and 3 other dc to look after inc disabled child.
But then theres a plan in place. Time, date etc rather than second guessing
