Spotting at 39 weeks?!

So im 39+4 weeks, and just this minute I've been to the toilet and noticed that there was a spot of blood down the toilet, at first I thought it may of been from my bum but when I wiped the front there was a bit on the tissue too..

It wasn't a lot just literally a couple of spots!

I had a walk around up and down the stairs just to see if I was actually bleeding, but when I put a bit of tissue up there to check, there was no blood on the tissue... I've been loosing my mucus plug for about 3/4 weeks now and this time it was different...

Could this be my mucus plug? Or something to worry about?

Possibly means labour is on the way but I would call labour ward/midwife for advice. You can never be too careful. Is the baby still having lots of movement? Xx

I had bleeding at 37 weeks on my first and I had him 24 hours later. If you are worried at all give your hospital/midwife for advice or a check up Thanks

A spot of blood at 39 weeks plus? I'd say there isn't anything to worry about! It might mean labour is on its way. I had quite a bit of red blood mixed with mucous when I went into labour with my second. Midwives weren't worried about it even though I was googling placental abruption and getting into a tizz!

Ive not had anything since so I'm not really worried!
I am aching in my back and groin at the minute so fingers crossed! Smile
