Hello I’m 36 weeks pregnant and due to setting up my own company and moving house I’ve bought very little for baby.
I’ve got Moses basket, stand and blankets. Some vests and sleep suits a few shorties and a couple of cardigans.

I’m going to do a big shop tomorrow and hopefully get everything in one fair swoop.
I’m open minded regarding feeding. So I need all angles covered. I’m going to try breast but I don’t want any pressure if I struggle so want to be prepared to ff.
I need lists of EVERYTHING from you wise ladies no matter how small or big.

Hit me with it
Thank you Smile

Nappies
cotton wool
nappy sacks
some sort of changing mat
bag to carry shed loads of baby stuff wherever you go
breast pads
maternity pads
nursing/comfy bra
big and comfy pants
witch hazel gel (to put on the maternity pads, it's really soothing)
mix of clothes for baby - don't panic about sizes, supermarkets are open all hours and if you've got the wrong size or not enough you can send someone out shopping, and personally I just dress a newborn in babygros/vests and don't bother with outfits, but some people like to go for outfits, whatever floats your boat.
Prune juice (to help you "go" after giving birth)

(I breast fed so can't help on ff requirements, sure someone will be along with that shortly)

car seat if you have a car
pram/sling/some method of conveying baby around

My tip - buy a bottle of water with a sports top and some tea tree oil - first couple of days, it hurts like a bastard when you pee if you have any tears/stitches/grazes

When you need to pee, then fill it up with warm water and a few drops tea tree oil and squirt it over yourself - it stops the hideous burny stinging and the tea tree helps with healing everything

Good luck

If you are looking to have ff as a back up, I would recommend getting the ready to go bottles that can stay in the cupboard for if/when you may need them.

If you believe that ff will occur at some point, get a small starter pack of bottles (3 packs work well) and my personal preference would either be a microwave sterilizer or better: MAM bottles that can be sterilized in the microwave so you don't need a sterilizer.

A bottle brush is also important, lots of bacteria on regular washing up stuff. Don't buy loads of one bottle as you may find that baby dislikes it and you have to try hundreds of others.

Pram and sun umbrellas for pram
Car seat
Nappies
Cotton wool
Prepared bottle pack (pop in to you nearest convenience store and check which brands of powder they stock and pick one of these brands)
Bottles, bottle brush, method to sterilise (electric, microwave or Milton plus tub)
Maternity pad (lots I went through 4-5 packs)
Nursing bras
lansinoh nipple cream
Breast pads
Muslins
Vest/sleepsuits (get some bigger size too as my ds didn't fit into newborn)
Sheets for Moses basket (apparently pillowcases fit)
I liked baby bath too as my back/hips wasn't up to leaning over the big bath, other say don't bother

That's about all you need to start I think, later you might want to get perfect prep if you bottle feed, sling, infacol, calpol for 8 week jabs, thermometer.
