This was me three years ago! I was constantly nauseous but never sick, the thought of any food made me feel rotten... except spicy food! I ate chillies for 6 months. The local Thai restaurant couldn't make their curry spicy enough for me and they really tried.

You will eat again.. sip water and take your vitamins.

Kate123cl · 03/07/2018 15:14

I'm the same now! It's awful :(

0310Star · 03/07/2018 15:31

I lived off of bowls of vegetables and gravy for a while, and I could manage sweets too lol
I found there was no point trying to force yourself to eat, just eat what you can and it will pass

Bowlofbabelfish · 03/07/2018 17:11

Ive had HG in both pregnancies and basically would live off nutrient paste if allowed. I cannot stand any food at all.

I dont think it’s normal but it’s not abnormal either.

userabcname · 03/07/2018 17:13

Yeah I too had HG and had an aversion to all food. It did lessen at about 20 weeks when I could stomach plainer foods like toast. It mostly disappeared by 30 weeks and I then ballooned massively when I started eating 3 meals a day again.

ReadingRiot · 03/07/2018 17:14

I ate bran flakes and prawn sandwiches for six months. It was only in the final weeks I realised I was supposed to be avoiding shellfish!

MorrisDancingViv · 03/07/2018 17:16

Yes it's normal. My diet was very odd with dd1, basically watermelon, prawns, sausage rolls and coca cola.

My current pregnancy isn't much better. I seriously struggle most days finding something I want. This child is going to come out looking like a jacket potato covered in cheese as it seems to be all I can eat.

Havetothink · 03/07/2018 17:17

Yep, went off all food, and at one point water, I mostly drank Apple juice for a couple of weeks.

CassandraLamontaigne · 03/07/2018 17:20

Ugh I remember it. I used to eat rich tea biscuits, cold apples & watermelon from the fridge and plain yogurt. Maybe some porridge and honey in the morning.
I couldn't look at salad or meat. Later on though I'd demolish a chicken cheese and coleslaw roll or brie on crackers.
Anything healthy? Nope!

PlatypusPie · 03/07/2018 17:23

Ginger thins ( that I didn’t like before) and oranges. Everything else bleugh.

FairfaxAikman · 03/07/2018 18:06

I had no nausea/morning sickness but had massive food aversions.
For about a month I lived off weetabix for breakfast, super noodles for lunch and plain chicken for tea.
Didn't do ds any harm and he's now nine weeks old.

captainshortie · 03/07/2018 18:20

Omg thank god im not alone!! I buy something I'm craving and have a mouthfull and think "oh god I hate this"
All I'm wanting is curry pot noodles, curry sauce from chippy/chinese, or a proper curry and carrots! Feel like im going to drive my OH demented!

@FairfaxAikman I've got insane nausea and food aversions could die, I love food! I should really start eating breakfast but the thought of porridge is knocking me ill and thats all i've got at the moment

captainshortie · 03/07/2018 18:23

MorrisDancingViv Oh god what i'd kill for a jacket potato with beans and tons of cheese. The things we do for pregnancy :P

WhirlingTurkey · 03/07/2018 18:30

Yes! Or at least sort of. I'm eating loads, but if it's not something I fancy then it makes me wretch. I have to eat almost constantly to keep the nausea away. Of course all I fancy is shite, nothing healthy. Was the same last pregnancy!!

SoyDora · 03/07/2018 18:32

Yes, I am just coming out the other side of this at 15 weeks. I had an aversion to everything. If I thought there was something I could stomach I’d go straight out and buy it, have 2 mouthfuls then realise I hated it. It’s tough going.
I now still can’t eat a lot of things I normally enjoy but can generally find something I can eat. The 24 hour nausea has eased off too, although I’m still being sick once every morning.
Hang on in there.

Youvegotafriendinme · 03/07/2018 18:37

I barely ate more than a vanilla yoghurt or some breakfast biscuits for 16 weeks due to food aversions and sickness. Then I managed to add olives and plain mashed potatoe to the list. Very odd combinations but I literally couldn’t stomach anything else till after he was born

peachesarenom · 03/07/2018 18:47

I was gonna say surely you can still manage a curry, then I read the op!!! Do it! You can eat curry in the summer, always hot in India!

captainshortie · 03/07/2018 19:09

@peachesarenom I've never at a much curry in my entire life! If I go off this it'll be a diet of juice and volvic lemon and lime water!

peachesarenom · 03/07/2018 19:12

Lol captainshortie I was on something different every week. Crackers, they stopped working, cornflakes, they stopped working. I couldn't drink water. I recommend lucozade active, the low cal one. And curry!

captainshortie · 03/07/2018 19:33

@peachesarenom Im not that fond of lucozade itself but can manage the raspberry sport one! Yummy!! I have a feeling ill be the same, it was soup last week.... :/

OP posts:
peachesarenom · 03/07/2018 19:35

Now on strawberry ribena! Low cal!

captainshortie · 03/07/2018 20:04

I suppose its typical when you're knocked off food that the only things you can stand is sugary/fatty crap!
Never tried strawberry ribena before!! Will get OH to get me some :)

I hope you love it like I do!

Mousefunky · 03/07/2018 20:31

Yup, one of the many shit things about pregnancy I’m afraid. I had many food aversions for the first 16 weeks and ate incredibly bland food. I couldn’t stand sweet stuff for example but usually have a sweet tooth. As soon as I hit 17 weeks, it disappeared and I feel fine now.
