So last night I did the one thing I didnt want to do and completley broke down. I mean hyperventilating crying :/

I was in complete agony, my lower back was on fire. Id been off work for a week when I found out so had just been relaxing and yesterday at work the chairs have NO support. Ill tell my manager today cause I cant have another night like that.

Im also so worried that im making it all up, but the positive was clear as day and dont want to buy more tests if I dont have too. But even the thought of doing another one for it to come up as negative kills me.
Symptoms are telling me different, im nauseous all the time, cant lie comfy in bed, gone off tea :O

Does anyone else get like this?

@captainshortie don't feel alone. Lots of us all go through the absolutely panic stricken feelings. I'm 4+6 but am in absolute disbelief still that this is happening. I don't think I will really believe it until I go to my scan and see something on the screen.

I've been quite emotional/detached from life the past few days in a bit of a day dream. I did a cheapie retest at the weekend just to remind myself that this is real, and I've got another spare in the cupboard just in case I have a major wobble in the next 3/4 weeks.

You definitely need a good supportive chair for work. We spend wayyyyy too much time sat at work to be uncomfortable!

I've made a GP appointment for tomorrow morning and plan to tell my manager on Thursday so that I can get the right support in place (I work in a risk fuelled environment)

You've always got a listening ear here 👂

@TheWanderLust Awwh thank you!! Same goes for me, we're all in this together and nobody knows what we're going through better than us.
I admit I wasn't going to buy a second test but caved tonight and got a pack of 2 cheepies from the chemist, totally expecting to of made it all up but hey ho 2 lines!
Going to take a pillow into work tomorrow and hope my boss caves, literally dying :(

I couldn’t read and run as I went through something similar in January. We’d decided to start trying and discovered we were pregnant on the first go! I took 2 tests at the prodding of DH as I was 1 day late. The positive test completely floored me and I made him get a digital one because “I need the words!” (hormones kicked in quick!)

At the beginning there is such a feeling of disbelief and excitement/worry. I wish I’d spent less time worrying in general and more time just embracing the experience. I’m 31+2 now and there’s always something to worry about but I’m learning to just go with the flow!

I’d definitely speak to your manager about a better chair. If you are telling work now, they should do a risk assessment soon to discuss things like your workstation set up. I told my manager when I was only a few weeks along because my work are pretty supportive and I have an underlying medical condition that could impact my pregnancy and work etc.

I’ve had hip/back pain throughout and I’d recommend a warm bath, warm hot water bottle (not too hot) or cold compress on the area. Paracetamol are fine to take to reduce pain in pregnancy but ibuprofen isn’t. If someone can give you a back rub that can also help to ease sore muscles.

It’s amazing how quickly pregnancy symptoms can start and how fast they change. Take each day at a time and you’ll be fine. There’s lots of great tips to be found on here. I’d recommend joining or starting a thread for women due in the same month. You’ll be amazed at how common it is to be feeling similar things at similar stages.

@captainshortie great news - 2 lines is 2 lines. You will find feelings come and go. I've gone from refusing to eat anything to sickness to now wanting to eat anything savoury I can get my hands on.

We're lucky there's some amazing ladies on here with useful tips and advice which I find useful. You have to learn to tune out to what you don't want to read though otherwise your mind boggles and you end up petrified.

You've got this. Exciting times ahead x
