Does this count as reduced movements

I just been reading another thread which made me think I haven't felt the baby much today, or yesterday really.

The baby has always been very active and in the last few weeks has had moments of trying to burst out of my belly.

At weekends it tends to be a bit quieter as I'm moving about and so don't notice the movements as much. During the week I'm in the office and it seems to constantly move.

But this weekend I've been sick so I've been sat on my sofa so I would assume I would have felt it move as much as I do when I'm at work. I have felt it moving but not as much as usual and it seems to push out then stop rather than kick or roll about. Also, I'm feeling movements more lower down whereas before the movements are at the top of my belly.

So, basically, I am feeling it move, but just a lot less than usual.

I'm 36+4. I don't want to go wasting anyone's time because movements haven't stopped completely.

Definitely get checked out. You will not be wasting anybody’s time. Www.kickscount.org.uk

They always say if you're in doubt, go and get checked out because any changes in baby's movement could mean that something is wrong. Hopefully all is fine and baby is just having a quiet day, but you should get checked for peace of mind. Flowers

Get it checked out. I had to go in today as I’ve had similar. Bit of wriggling and movement, but not proper kicks. They were very happy for me to come in and get checked over and I’ve got a follow up scan on Tuesday. Don’t leave it overnight.

Wowzel · 01/07/2018 20:58

Definitely go and get it checked out.

I had reduced movements all day when I was 40+4, I didn't mention it to DH... until 17.00 when I decided it was time to get it checked out, I ended up being induced that night

Hope things are ok

DancingLedge · 01/07/2018 20:59

Get checked.Tonight.
Consulting medical people when there is any kind of change during a pregnancy is never wasting someone's time.

rascallyrascal · 01/07/2018 21:00

Get checked NOW. Probably nothing but don't take the risk.

"I don't want to go wasting anyone's time because movements haven't stopped completely."

You are absolutely 100% not wasting anyone's time if you go in. The midwifes would all much rather see you.

The advice is ANY change in movements, which means if they have reduced at all you should get checked out. Also, just an aside hiccups don't count as movements as they are involuntary.

Please please go and get checked out!

Thanks everyone.

The baby has started moving but only if I put my hand on my stomach.

I'll give them a call to see what they say.

Fingers crossed everything is ok for you OP. Calling was definitely the right thing to do xx

Samewitches · 01/07/2018 22:10

Go and get checked out. It's a pain in the arse and it's probably for nothing BUT- if you are feeling reduced movements you must not wait for no movements. If you feel like you need or want to be checked out and you are told not to go in fuck that, go in. If you know or feel that baby's movements are reduced please do not wait until you feel nothing for a while and are panicking. Just go, you'll feel a bit foolish (but shouldn't be made to feel so by anyone!) if it's nothing and baby's kicking up a storm the second you turn up but if under the very slight chance you do need to go and you don't it's far far worse.

feltpens · 01/07/2018 22:11

I've taken your advice and I'm just waiting to be seen.

Thanks everyone

Only you can tell as each baby has their own routine. If you think they are reduced then you're likely to be correct. So do get checked out.

Lindah1 · 01/07/2018 22:13

Best wishes please let us know how you get on

Anditstartsagain · 01/07/2018 22:20

Good luck. My ds2 had reduced movement's at 39+3 weeks I went in and was induced that day to be safe because I was already 39+. I understand if it's under 39 they won't induce as a matter of course but will investigate.

If you ever have any worry about movement at all never wait when ds2 arrived he didn't wake or eat for 24 hours I dread to think of what may have happened if he stayed inside.

feltpens · 01/07/2018 23:18

Hiya, all ok. Didn't really say why the movements have reduced but was on a monitor and it all come back ok.

Thanks everyone Thanks
