Baby wet wipes advice?

Hey,
This may sound a silly question but I'm a 1st-time mum & have no idea about anything Confused.
My question is I am getting ready to prepare mine & the baby's hospital bag & I was talking to a few people about nappies & wet wipes & a few of them mention that hospital doesn't allow you to use anything but these water wipe ones, not the normal pampers etc. Is this true? Or are they lying to me lol.
Thanks in advance for replies.

Yes I think normal wipes are not good for newborn skin. Midwives prefer you use water and cotton wool at first, maybe water wipes would also be okay if they only have water and no chemicals

We took Lidl wet wipes with us and I'm sure we used them. I can't actually remember changing a nappy but we were there overnight so must have done

Sounds like bullshit to me. What happens if you take regular wipes in? They tell you to leave the baby sitting in shit? The advice is cotton wool and warm water but that's really quite difficult to sort when you're in hospital. I took water wipes to hospital and no one blinked an eye. Take what you want.

We used cotton wool and water for the first month or so but I can’t imagine they’ll ban you from using normal wipes.

I don’t think they’d stop you but either cotton and water or water wipes are better for newborn skin at least for the first couple of weeks

Midwives will advise you to use cotton wool and water but I always found it a right faff to get those first black tar poos off with just that. We used regular unscented wipes and no one said anything Smile

Screw cotton wool/water- massively impractical and messy. I took water wipes to hospital and one of the midwives commented on how brilliant they are and how she used them on her own so I would expect they’d be ok with those. Newborn skin is sensitive so personally I wouldn’t want to use anything else initially. Maybe you could take the water wipes to hospital and switch to whatever you prefer when you get home or after the first couple of weeks?
