Heatwave worries 1st trimester

Hello. Anybody worrying about the heat being a risk to baby? We had a miscarriage last time and baby died whilst I was in Tenerife and it did cross my mind that I might have got too hot. This is the same week we lost our previous baby and it's even hotter in the UK. I've got really hot in the car (no air con) and we don't have a fan in our bedroom. I've got a reassurance scan on Monday. I'm 9 weeks tomorrow and petrified.

Please try not to worry. As long as you keep hydrated the heat will pose no threat to your baby.
Women across the world have babies in temperatures hotter than we've had this last week.

Women have babies in Africa and the Middle East when it is over 40 degrees. It’s awful that you lost a baby on holiday, but it’s just bad luck. Make sure you keep hydrated and stay out of the sun because you are more likely to burn or suffer from sunstroke, but the health of your baby cannot be directly affected by a bit of warm weather.

Try not to worry (although I share the same fear!). I have been taking my temperature often to check that my temp does not exceed 38.9 as that is when there is some potential for risk. This whole heatwave the highest temp I recorded was 37.2 (and this was when I was at the beach and had just walked up a long cliff walk in full sun). Makes me agree with the view that you and your body would know if you ever got hot enough to cause any harm to your baby. I am sorry for what you have been through, this baby business can be so tough. Keep hydrated and everything will be fine x

Sorry about your previous pregnancy.

I don't think the hot weather should present any problems provided you keep drinking, seek shade and don't over exert yourself.

Sorry for your previous losses but try not to worry, women successfully carry pregnancy in very hot parts of the world all of the time. Our bodies are really very good at regulating our body temperature however hot we may feel so it won't put the baby at risk at all.
