Hi Noahsmummy - I'm not but this time last year I was! (Ds2 is 1 next week!) I'm afraid to say that DS1 watched a lot of CBeebies in those last few weeks - it was also too hot to go out. I invited people round lots so that toddlers could play together and I could sit and chat. Hope it all goes well for you and welcome to Mumsnet!
PS My DS2 was nearly Noah!

Hi Noahsmummy - I think I fit the bill. ds is 14 months, I'm 5 months gone, and hoping for a vbac! Not a very regular poster as I only have access to the net at weekends, but would love to keep in touch. feel free to mail me through contact another talker if you fancy.
How old is your ds?

Levanna · 13/08/2004 22:45

Hi Clare, I'm 38 weeks pg, and I have a DD who's 2.4. I thought all was going well until DD decided to scarper at full pelt away from me whilst in a big shop yesterday. I couldn't catch her before she toppled head first into a set of stepladders in an aisle. Then couldn't get her into her car seat mid tantrum (legs and arms flailing precariously close to bump!) as I told her we had to leave the shop immediately due to her running off . Generally things have gone well, but I felt so useless and frustrated at that point that I had to go round to the back of the car for a good swear before returning to the struggle! (Swearing was witnessed by a young and naive couple, obviously due their first, who turned their noses in the air whilst loading their car with new baby stuff beside me, and muttered something along the lines of 'charming'! .) It had to happen outside mothercare!

Oh yes. Autistic 5 year old, insane 2 year old and 19 weeks with number 3. Pretty knackered, but will probably be more knackered come the New Year. I look back to my first pregnancy with amazement- lots of pampering- I call it my princess pregnancy- I'm a princess no more! DS3 has been kicked and jumped on from day one- poor child, although ds2 does occasionally give the bump a cuddle.

Not allowed a VBAC unfortunately (will be 3rd section).

Not currently in your situation, but was last year - ds2 born when ds1 was 2 yrs 1 month.

I also tried for a vbac (didn't work out for me in the end, but was enormously grateful to the midwives at Queen Charlotte's for helping me to try).

Me too, DS1 is 3 and a bit of a nightmare at the moment, DD1 is 1 and i'm 32 weeks. To be honest DS tends to be alright out but not at home, i've developed possible SPD and can't walk far which doesn't help the situation.. To be honest what I remember from last time round things actually got better once I had the baby and got more mobile.

Hi, Clare, I am sooo tired - 37 weeks and a 2.4 year old dd1. So hard to bloody bend over and drive. Our nursery has just shut for holidays so have the next two weeks without my normal two days of peace and quiet. God knows how I will keep her entertained. Being pregnant the first time is sooooooo much easier!

noahsmummy · 15/08/2004 13:34

Thanks everyone - it seems i am not alone. My DS1 is 3 next month and being quite good really except for night time. He has always been good sleeper until last weeks when waking up nearly every hour and screaming unless we lie down with him (a habit i didnt want to get into just now!)
Anyway - we decided on tough love and put a gate on his door - after controlled crying from 11pm til 4am - he climed the gate ! He now has a chain on his door (call the social!) and now he cant escape and has got the message at last !! it was hell though and i had to survive on about 2 hours sleep a night for over 2 weeks. Anyway - i am sure i am not the only one to have had this sort of problem either.
DS2 is due 19th Dec - anyone else expecting an xmas baby ? only just starting to feel excited really after a rocky start......thanks for listening and your support, clare xx

Hi there! I am 11 weeks pregnant with a just gone 2 year old toddler!

Toots · 15/08/2004 19:54

Levanna - huge hugs for your Mothercare misery. Re other couple....well, we know that you are the normal one and they are in cloud cuckoo land!

bunny2 · 16/08/2004 19:55

My ds is a very stubborn 4 y/o. I inevitably end up half carrying and half dragging him along the pavement at some point every day - not easy at 6 months pregnant. And he still doesnt sleep through the night (he can get very itchy due to eczema) so I never get a decent sleep. Still, it will be easier when he starts school in Sept - then I'll miss him like mad.

Angeliz · 16/08/2004 22:48

Levanna, just enjoy the fact that their day WILL come!!

My dd is 3.6 and she is great but u get very snappy and teary lately with her (i'm 12 weeks) and HATE myself for it!! I just hope my hormones will ease off soon.

I am exhausted with ds who is 2yrs 4months and I am 26 weeks PG. He is whiny, demanding and obnoxious. Am not sure if it is to do with the hot weather or if he is a bit unsure about the new baby coming or if it is a stage he is going through but I am considering boarding school for him!!!!!

Really not sure if I can cope with a new baby and him and working etc Am dreading November.
