My little one has just turned 8 months old and I'm planning on going to university in the next couple of years. My partner is already talking about trying for our next one at the end of the year and I'm just unsure about age gaps because I want to get it right. I've read so many pros and cons, would love to hear thoughts and experiencesSmile

We will have 3.5 years. Baby isn't here yet so can't how it is. Ideally we wanted 2 years. We started trying in Sept 2016. A year later I still wasn't pregnant. Then I fell pregnant but had a miscarriage. Then we had a family bereavement which meant we stopped trying for a bit as I wasn't in the right place. Basically what I'm saying is you can try for the 'perfect' age gap but in reality this might not happen, life and other things get in the way. We initially didn't want such a big gap but now it's working out to be great as DD will start her 30 funded nursery hours meaning I get 1:1 time with baby, also she has a great understanding of what is happening and is very excited for the arrival of 'her' baby. I wouldn't put yourself under pressure.

Like usernotfound said don't over think it and put too much pressure on the age gap as s**t happens that you can't control. I got pregnant with the 'perfect' 2 year age gap then had a late miscarriage at 19 weeks. Luckily I've concieved again quickly and will fingers crossed have a 2yr 8mth age gap but you just can't plan these things exactly.
