Im just confused!! FTM :)

34 weeks Ceph free

36 weeks Ceph long Brim

38 weeks Ceph Long 4/5

Is my baby becoming engaged or no way near ? If so when could labour start or she become fully engaged ?

Midwife did explain a little but it's gone over my head ( baby brain )

She did say she would do a sweep at 40 weeks but If I can help my baby get engaged beforehand id love to try anything If any of you ladies have any tips :)

Thanks and hope I've made some X

Not engaged yet but going in the right direction.
Is it your first baby?

34 weeks - that’s probably obvious

Ceph - cephalic presentation, head down.

Ceph free - Head not engaged

Ceph brim - head at the brim of your pelvis

Long - longitudinal lie so straight up and down

4/5 - a part of baby’s head is now engaged.

So all as it should be and heading south to prepare for delivery!

Your baby doesn't need to be engaged. My baby wasn't and he still came 2 weeks early. The midwife told me as long as he's head down the contractions will push his head into the pelvis (my ds was born within 3 hours of labour starting) so don't worry about being engaged.

4/5 means that 1/5 of her head has now entered the pelvis so yes she’s starting to engage. Engagement isn’t a sign of when they are likely to arrive however, some babies engage early and stay like for for ages, others (usually second pregnancies onwards) can engage during labour.
