Hi I just wondered if anyone else was in the same boat, we’ve been trying for years to get pregnant and are and over the moon, but I’ve never felt so I’ll its really shocking. I’m hoping it just hay fever along with the usual nausea but I just can’t believe how hard going it is. X

Unfortunately it is normal to feel like complete crap in the first trimester. Most of the time it goes away some time in the second trimester. Until then take it as easy as possible and if you work, get your OH to step up at home so all you do when you come back from work all you can do is lie down.

There is a thread here to join the other sufferers - www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/3285743-Anyone-else-EXHAUSTED-in-first-trimester

Not just you, OP. Am 7 weeks with my much longed for second child and all I want to do is to sleep. All day. Not sure I'm even safe to drive and have basically closed down any activities in my life apart from sitting on the sofa due to the fear of vomiting everywhere - and yet I feel guilty for feeling this shit because we've wanted it for so long! It's both awful and wonderful, but I remember it being the same with my first and it really does pass. The second trimester is great fun :).

I am 11+5 and I still feel absolutely dreadful most of the time. I haven't actually been sick but I feel constantly nauseous, bloated, constipated, exhausted, tearful, you name it. I've basically had to drop out of any fun plans I've had for the past couple of months.

A friend told me that in the second trimester you start to feel "superhuman" so I am clinging on to that lovely thought!

Yep, the 2nd trimester is a breeze in comparison. Hope you begin to feel more comfortable OP. If you need sleep then sleep when you can, eat little and often and if the sickness persists get your gp to prescribe you something.

Thanks so much for the responses ladies. Feeling better after a descent sleep! I made an appointment to go and see the GP for some hay fever spray I could take and he said I actually have a virus, which explains why I was feeling quite so rough along with the PG symptoms. I honestly never realised that Dizziness and all day nausea could happen. I’m looking forward to the second trimester! X
