To have amino or to not have amnio?

Just had our 20 week scan. A very small chance there may be a chromosomal abnormality. Also a chance of cystic fibrosis, infection, and a couple other things. Consultant re did the scan. She looked concerned. CF tests only test me and DP for 85% of cf strands. Could pay the £300 for NIPT but our only way of knowing 100% is amnio. We would choose to terminate if baby had a disability - no judgement please. I don't know whether to have the amnio or not. Terrified. Devastated. Feel sick.

Anyone any experience?

@pereybutton hope everything went ok for you today 💐

Thank you everyone. The amnio went well (I think). I've been scared to move and stayed away from this thread for a day or so in fear that someone would post a horror story. I've posted a couple of more normal threads under a NC and it's been nice to get advice on normal things for once! Not scary amnio business. I'll be sure to keep you updated. Thanks everyone who has offered me kind words of advice. It has been invaluable

Have only just checked back in - so glad ARC were helpful. After all our dramas I made a donation because I was so grateful they were there when we needed them.
Fingers very much crossed for the results - hope the wait isn't too long for you.
