I'm just 2 months-ish into my first pregnancy at 33 years old. The first signs I noticed was the "boob fairy" visited as she does during my normal cycle but didn't go away. When I missed that period I did a test and got those two little lines.

While bigger boobs is as my husband put it "compensation for the mood swings" (i'm not really complaining about the size either), they HURT! I used to look forward to the end of the day when I could take my bra off but now I dread it as it will take about 20 minutes to get comfortable!

Another thing I noticed was I seem to have put on a bit of podge round my belly but not a lot of weight. I have always been slim but have had what I call a 'sit-down belly' and have a food-baby even if I eat a light meal!

I'm guessing these things are normal, I am a firm believer that as women have been doing this since the beginning of time then my body just knows what it has to do ... but still ... will my boobs hurt like this from now until the kid is on solids?

I’m 22 weeks with my first so can’t say if the boob ache is here to stay after baby but can definitely say that mine still have days now where they hurt more than other (but it is more my nipples that feel like I have gone at them with a cheese grater than my actual boob!)

Congratulations Smile

Everyone's boobs are different... mine were fine in first trimester unless I got cold when I had the cheese-grater nipples mentioned by PP. In the early second trimester mine got pretty sore but now they are ok as long as I don't squash them too much (25 weeks with my first). But my nipples are really dry, itchy and flaky so need to be moisturised at least once a day.

I understand that when your milk actually comes in your boobs are in agony until you establish a good bf routine (or switch to formula and the milk goes) but definitely not until baby is on solids!

The belly could well be bloating, that is common in the first trimester. I felt really full after eating anything and actually lost weight for a few weeks, although at the same my trousers didn't fit any more! I've been in maternity stuff since about 11 weeks. Congratulations and good luck with your pregnancy :)

My boobs stopped hurting around 12 weeks. AFAIK that's when the placenta takes over so Progesterone levels don't stay as high which is what causes them to hurt

I'm 28 weeks now and they don't hurt although I expect they will start again nearer to the end
