I’m just not sure about it...

I’m not an anti-vaxxer at all, me and my kids have had all other jabs, but I’m not convinced with this one..

Has everyone else opted to have this whole pregnant, have there been any side effects?

Has anyone decided against it?

avoiding the NHS says

There is good evidence that pregnant women have a higher chance of developing complications if they get flu, particularly in the later stages of pregnancy.

One of the most common complications of flu is bronchitis, a chest infection that can become serious and develop into pneumonia.

If you have flu while you're pregnant, it could mean your baby is born prematurely or has a low birthweight, and may even lead to stillbirth or death.

So it's not that flu inevitably causes problems, but the risks increase. If your baby and healthy then most of this stuff seems irrelevant, but obviously is relevant to a still pregnant woman contemplating the vaccine.

avoiding, in utero/infancy it can cause miscarriage/stillbirth, prematurity, and birth defects. Study of the 1918 flu cohort indicates that it can also do lifelong damage to health that only emerges later - heart attacks, premature death.

It’s not flu season at the moment so you won’t need it until September at the earliest.

I have been previously seriously ill when I had the jab in the past so I don’t have it.
I have every jab offered just not flu.

I meant beyond the baby stage. You said the babies of 1918 stick out as a demographic.

Their mum's wouldn't have had the amazing care that I had so that should mitigate some effects but what long term damage does it cause?

Sorry, I missed that you had had flu during pregnancy so my previous post sounds very harsh. Obviously you can't change the past, and medical treatment is much better than it was in the past, and a lot will probably depend on when in the pregnancy the flu happened. I hope your son continues to be very healthy.

Thankyou. I was 35 weeks. He's 7 now and seems unaffected nobody mentioned risk of long term damage to him.

However I'll take the view we got best care possible so hopefully that will mitigate any damage.
