Need to rant! I've been travelling on trains the last two days, very rammed of people of all ages. I'm very clearly pregnant now (bump had popped out of nowhere) and not one person offered their seat. Not just that but people had no issue pushing and shoving me around to get to absolutely nowhere. What is wrong with people?! Even if I'd paid for a reserved seat, I'd offer it up for a pregnant woman in a second. Not much I can do now and I'm happily home and comfy now. Just needed to vent somewhere!!

I just held on. I take the bus everyday.. and did during both pregnancies. It can be a bit erratic sometimes, but there are poles all over the bus.

Well, good for you. I don't feel safe, and since pregnant women are explicitly shown as a priority seat category on the bus a) I assume the bus company also thinks they're more likely to need a seat and b) it seems a bit martyrish to stand when it's possible but difficult when most passengers on the bus could stand much more easily.

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking I had an undiagnosed condition where I felt like I would pass out or throw up so always sat in an aisle seat for a couple of years, so I could quickly get of public transport if needed. During that time on crowded tubes and trains I was actually offered seats because other passengers thought I would collapse. So just because someone is sitting like that don't presume they are well.

I personally had no problem if someone wanted to sit next to the window and now always ask other passengers of I can sit inside especially if they are sitting in the priority seats.

@bluebug45

That’s fine, but I bet when the bus pulled up to a stop and people were trying to find a seat, you weren’t pretending to be engrossed In your phone or looking for something deep in the bottom of your bag? I get that sometimes there are circumstances that are not visually obvious, but there were probably 5 or 6 people I directed my comments at that day.

@Notasgreen I'm fairly appalled by your comments.

@surreygirl1987

Really? I give up my seat for elderly people, and anyone else who looks like they’re struggling but I don’t think being pregnant automatically gives you the right to someone else’s seat?

That appalls you...?
