Not that I want to be induced at all as I'm happy with how time is plodding along but the consultant mentioned on Sunday that if after 37 weeks the reduced movements continue they will talk induction! I'm 36+3 and starting to get a little scared I've had 4 cases of reduced movements 3 very close together been for a fetal movement scan at 34 and now again today at 1 so will be my second fetal movement scan but again baby hasent moved a lot this morning ( she's moved but not much ) on my previous scan everything showed healthy baby and on the ctg's I have they show healthy happy baby but yet throughout the day I'm still feeling not much and her movements have completely slowed down and are out of the 'norm' and this is when the consultant mentioned induction 😔 Has anyone been in this situation? just don't know how to feel I'm so worried about my baby

They would induce you for the health of you and your baby.

At 37 weeks you are considered full term, so if you have to be induced both you and your baby will be fine.

If you say what you are scared off then other posters can offer advice.

I’m 36+3 I’ve had a lot of bleeds and a few episodes of reduced movements. I’m booked for induction at 40 weeks because of those issues however my consultant said if I have any more episodes of reduced movements they may Bring my induction forward but they decide that based on ten CTG and scans etc. Ideally they like the baby to stay in as close to 40 weeks as possible so early induction happens if they think the baby or you are at risk if that makes sense. So I think it will depend on ten circumstances, the CTG / Scan post 37 weeks and you / baby health plus your specific trust / hospitals policy.

I had this with my first, 4 episodes of reduced movements and then they did a scan and found he wasn't growing as much as he should be despite the midwife measurements saying he'd be huge. I was induced as they were concerned there might be something amiss given he wasn't where he should have been growth wise and the movements slowing.
If you are induced it's for the safety of you and the baby at this stage, though of course you can say no if you are happy to wait and see what happens. They may well keep you coming in every day to have the heartbeat trace on baby to make sure everything is OK.
It is scary, but ask any questions you have and consider the options carefully

Depends where you are but in our area that's protocol and if you decide against then you have to sign a waiver saying it's on your head against medical advice.

I was induced at 38 weeks due to 3x reduced movements so after a check on Wednesday night I had another consultant appointment on Thursday and was admitted Friday and had a good listen in and scan then first pessary. Walked down to labour room on Saturday 5pm and sunday morning 7.50am she was born.

No complications for me of her and I asked for episiotimy and forcep help as I felt her stuck, no issues from either.

Consultant again this time and looking at a C section which I'm fine with as he's transverse at 32 weeks.

Listen to your consultant - being induced doesn't mean stuck to bed as I was walking around consultant led area with my wireless monitors on and blethering to people.

Good luck :)

I’m currently 37+5 in hospital being induced. Had my fourth episode of reduced movements on Sunday, policy here is if you have one episode after 37 weeks you will be offered induction.
As doctor said to me sometimes baby is just better off out than in. I wasn’t very happy as really didn’t want induction but I’d rather that than risk baby’s health.
Good luck!!
