HCG and PAPP... should I worry?

Hi All, I had my 16week check up with my midwife and she mentioned when doing the blood test for Nuchal test they noted my PAPP and HCG hormone. Because of the level of these they want to have me in for more scans after the 28weeks mark. The midwife did mention it was nothing to worry about but I'm just curious has anyone else had this happen during their pregnancy? And what was the outcome/reason for the additional scans?
Thanks x

Scans from 28 weeks would usually be growth scans, which normally mean your PAPP-A is on the low side. Try not to worry about it though. More chances to see baby :) xx

I had low PAPP-A at my 12 week scan. It was 0.88. A bit of Googling tells me "normal" is 1. As a result I'm getting growth scans, my first growth scan is at 28 weeks too. MW and consultants haven't been worried and nothing so far has indicated I need to be worried about baby's growth (we've had quite a few scans so far due to other reasons and baby has been on track)

That's great to hear that everything is on track @zooz always a worry but I suppose the extra scans can be reassuring!

I have had extra scan because of low Papp A. Its not really anything to worry about as its only picked up in that blood test. Its not something that is commonly screened for. So millions of women have low Papp a and never know about it.

You'll have growth scans and most likely something called doppler study which is done at the same time and just measures the blood flow through the cord to make sure its working as it should. :)

For me this means baby is measuring a little small and was estimated at 4lb9oz at 35w6d. But they are only estimates. I was told with my son a week before hos due date he was over 9lb. He was born at 7lb7oz.
