I’ll be 6 weeks on Wednesday so probably too soon too say anything yet but was thinking of mentioning it to my boss at 8 weeks once I’ve had a private scan.

Buuuuuut I feel awful today. I can’t be off sick as I had a stomach bug last week and a cold the week before.

Also dreading telling them as I’ve just passed my probation and it’s going to screw my boss over.

When did you tell your work place?

I told my boss when I found out at 5 weeks but we have a really good relationship and it affected some of the long term planning we were doing. Now 15 weeks and not intending to tell anyone else at work til the 20 week scan.

Earlier than I wanted because some idiot came in with a communicable disease.

I will also be looking at telling them as early as possible. I work within the justice sector and I need to tell them early to safeguard me.

Told them the day I tested / my period was due as I could get attacked at work and may have to restrain - and also because my boss is a good friend.

6 weeks as being sick 20+ times in a 12 hour shift wasn't easy to hide! Plus needed a risk assessment due to manual handing etc x

I was 4 weeks when I told my manager and 13 weeks when I officially announced it to my colleagues.

Told them straight away... Get health and safety considerations and protected against bad treatment :-)

After 12 week scan, felt pregnancy was viable and reassured that developing normally. Also wanted to be past high risk miscarriage stage.
There is lots going on at work with many staff changes didn't want to rock the boat unless necessary...

I'm a nurse, so i told my work very early (about 5 weeks) due to risk management etc but i think it just depends on the type of job you do and your own circumstances

kirinm · 18/06/2018 22:19

I told HR and one senior partner at 16 weeks as I was admitted overnight into hospital due to bleeding but asked that nobody else be told. Told others around 24-25 weeks.

ilovejammiedogers · 18/06/2018 22:37

I didn't plan to tell them until I had my 12 week scan. However I became really sick and was signed off by my GP. So I told my manager at 7 weeks but no one else.
