Painful lower abdomen

I'm just looking for any experience or advice please.

I'm 17+4 and keep getting what feels like a really sharp boot to the lower left hand side in my abdomen.

Also, when I stand from a sitting position I always end up crouched over as it's as if my insides haven't stretched at the same rate my body has.

Since yesterday and all of today when I just walk, even the short distance from my desk to the kitchen, my entire lower stomach has a constant dull ache/pain.

From what I've read I assume (hope) its round ligament pain, but can I ask if any of you have read my 'symptoms' above and thought "CALL THE MIDWIFE IMMEDIATELY"

The only change over the past week and a half is my car has broken down and I've had to start walking short distances to get the bus etc - not sure if that'd be having an impact?

Any advice /help /tips would be most appreciated

Hey heresmeh I’m currently 25weeks pg and i get this too! I seem to find i get it because I’m not as active as i used to be and literally drive everywhere. The minute im cleaning the house for around 30mins-1hr i get the abdominal dull pain aswell and i feel its my body’s way of saying I’m doing too much so then i take a little rest and carry on. I think doing light exercises and stretches may help but to be honest im quite lazy to do any of these lol but I think it definitely would help though! If you are really worried just give your local hospital or midwife for advice but im sure its nothing to worry about 😊

It does sound like round ligament pain to me. I have some bad days that are how you describe it. I've also been doing stretching exercises (intermittently) and pregnancy yoga which may or may not be helping. Be aware of your posture when you are walking and sitting as well. And put your feet up for at least an hour a day/try to rest after exercise.

But if the pain gets worse or you are increasinlgy worried, call triage etc etc.

I've been getting this too. I stand up, and whilst the rest of me is fine to move it's like the line under my stomach can't stretch out and I can't straighten up. This takes me a good ten minutes to shift. Then once I'm up I'm fine, until I walk more than 10 ish minutes, then my whole lower belly starts to feel really heavy and tense and I have to have stops. I've spoken to my midwife about it. I'm also getting sciatica and hip pain so she's referred me to the physio, and says if my stomach pain continues I may have to get a stomach support band from the doctors. I'm only 17 weeks so stomach not huge yet so think I'd look pretty pathetic with one of those one but it is so painful! Hope things get better for you x

@Poppy2507 you have honestly just written my story! That is EXACTLY the same as my problem!

Yep. Pretty much what I’ve been experiencing too. It gets worse when I need a wee (which is pretty much all of the time now!!), so I’ve taken to making sure I get up from my desk at work at least once an hour to go to the loo, pee and stretch out the muscles.

I definitely find walking each evening helps - I might get a BH when I start, but any cramping quickly eases and I feel a lot better at the end of the walk. And sitting on an exercise ball instead of the sofa at home helps a ton too.

I’ve been suffering from RLP all the way through, so not too concerned unless it turns to repeated cramping... just another pregnancy ache I guess!!
