Just wanted to hear everyones thoughts on when would be good to start trying again?

I currently have a 6 month old and all is well with DD and I've fully recovered fine. I have a huge support network and it's been great.

I had a difficult pregnancy with sickness for around 8 months and SPD, so I imagine it'll be the same next time but I want another one sooner because I'm nearing 35 and I'm in a job I dont enjoy, so want to go back pregnant with a view to not returning after the second baby.

Any thoughts/advice appreciated xxxx

I think your main consideration needs to be how would you care for your baby if you had a second pregnancy similar to your first. You would need to have a good support network to help you through the pregnancy if you were to be very sick and have SPD again.

I think I've read that your body needs a year to recover from pregnancy

We have 14 months between our two. Worked brilliantly for us. Though if we’d had the other way round maybe wouldn’t have had two so close. Grin

Should add not planned and no pregnancy issues.

I had my first two 15 months apart then there’s 14 months between 2 and 3 Grin. No pregnancy complications whatsoever.

I would mirror Nichola, your greatest consideration needs to be how you would cope with DD and see to her needs if you had a pregnancy similar to the one with her.

Be aware that SPD is often worse in subsequent pregnancies. 6 month olds are quite easy because they aren’t moving yet. Chasing after a crawling or toddling child is very different!

Thank you everyone! Yes a big concern is the SPD, I've actually made an appointment to see a chiropractor so hopefully can take a look now to see if there's anything they can do to prevent but I guess is there ever such thing as a 'perfect' time to have kids, you never know whats round the corner? I'm sure I can suck it up for a few months though..... touch wood!
