Breast feeding OR formula feeding OR both?

I always thought i would FF because i have very small boobs and around my time of the month and during my pregnancy so far i have found my boobs being so so painful and sore and cant imagine the pain being worse with cracked, bleeding nipples with a new bubba to take care of (never mind the fact everybody says your boobs go so saggy after?!). But a friend has a 6 month old and has been BF and has changed my mind a bit on it.

Im now thinking, breast feed to start with and then express to give my DH time to bond and grandparents etc, and possibly going to a formula feed at night time?

I dont know but thought id ask on here before turning to family as they will say what they think i want them too no doubt :) as lovely as they are - i need a bit of honesty to help make the decision.

I still have a while before DC arrives but think it would be good to have a good idea of what i want to do now rather then decide on the spot.

Try to suss out local breastfeeding support groups. La leche league, or NCT breastfeeding cafes/groups (don't need to be a member). Pregnant women are most welcome and they can be an invaluable source of information and support. There are lots of little things that can go wrong when breastfeeding, often easily fixed, but you need experienced advice. Good luck!

I am 7 weeks post partum and my daughter is combination fed at the moment. I just don’t think you can always plan these things. I was 100% planning to breastfeed but due to a retained placenta and post partum hemmorage I have a low milk supply. This meant my daughter wasn’t putting on weight fast enough so although I am still BF and working on increasing my flow, she is having formula twice a day to keep her weight up. I also find pumping reassuring because I can see how much she gets bit like others have mentioned it’s quige time consuming!

I guess what I’m trying to say is don’t be dead set on anything and then be disappointed, it’s great to have a plan but sometimes you don’t always get a choice!
