Tummy pains in early pregnancy

Hi ladies,

I’m around 5-6 weeks pregnant with my first. I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks a couple of months ago and so naturally am worrying about every little thing I feel.
However I don’t know whether to be concerned about the tummy pain I’m getting. I’ve had it on and off for around a week now, it’s mild-moderate pain all around my lower abdomen and sometimes goes down into my right thigh. I also feel ridiculously bloated like I have a giant balloon inside me that needs to pop!
It’s been keeping me up at night but isn’t excruciatingly painful, (as I said, moderate rather than severe pain) and I don’t have any bleeding.
Has anyone else experienced this?! Is it a normal part of early pregnancy and everything just growing and stretching?!
Thanks so much :) x

Sounds pretty normal, bloating, cramps and general aches especially in the first trimester. After that I just have the odd day where everything feels tight and very stretched.

I'm only a week later than you OP, and been advised cramps and pains are normal due to changes happening etc. I'm so uncomfortable at the moment too - hot water bottles have helped :) best of luck with t all

Same here! I'm about 5 weeks and have mild period like cramps every so often. I had two miscarriages last year so I'm feeling a bit anxious and worried too but apparently this is all normal!

By my second pregnancy I realised these were my pregnancy symptoms. Look up 'implantation pain'. OP, hopefully it will all work out this time Thanks

To be clear: 2 pregnancies, 2 DC. Spent first trimester of first pregnancy worried sick I was going to miscarry after years of infertility.

I’m so glad I have see this.i am 5 weeks after having IVF and 3 previous very early MC, I have had peroid type pains all day sometimes on one side sometimes on both! As I had ivf I am so closely monitored that I am panicking every time my HCG doesn’t rise how they would expect etc 🙈 hopefully our pains are normal

I'm 20 weeks and have also suffered miscarriages. Everyone is different so I don't want you to read what I say as gospel. It's just my experience and might put your ease at rest a little.

When I had my miscarriages, I didn't really feel pregnant. I had no aches and pains, no sore boobs, no nausea etc. The pain started when I was miscarrying, at which point I was always bleeding so sadly knew exactly what was happening. When I finally had a sticky baby (my first!) I had every ache and pain under the sun. Sore boobs, nausea, vomiting, cramps, bloating, tiredness, headaches, you name it! I'm now 20 weeks and feeling much better, but honestly felt like I had run a marathon, been hit by a bus and had been pumped full of air in the same day at 5 weeks.

Wishing you all the best OP. It's an amazing time but also very daunting Flowers
