Company I work for has changed hands, since this work has become mental...

32 weeks now, on my feet all day at work, meant to do 11 hour shifts but are always 12 now, meant to get 3 breaks but don't even get 1 at the moment, very stressful all day (meant to see 4 clients an hour but they've just changed this to 6), everyone else very stressed too. Can't even go for a wee because we run so far behind seeing clients on time, cars lining up down the road because car park full because we're running so far behind on seeing people!!

I've asked to go to half days until I go on maternity leave, company said no.

I don't want to kick off/make a fuss because they're in the process of deciding how much maternity pay they give me and we could really do with the money :-(

Just need to rant/advice :-(

Do you get company sick pay?
If so, go to the docs and get signed off. No job is worth being that stressed over .

If not you need to speak to HR department

Get signed off sick for 4 weeks then go on mat leave. They way they are treating you isn't right. And what do you mean by deciding what to pay you? The law is pretty clear on that and it should have already been decided.

Thanks for your replies, it's just so stressful now and it wasn't before.

My old company only offered SMP but I have now found out that every other employee at the new company is getting additional maternity pay so I've asked to get this instead of statutory (as I would be the only member of staff not getting anything additional). They're thinking about it at the moment... Same situation with sick pay, I wasn't entitled to sick pay with he old company but apparently I am with the new company... So I don't really know if I'll get it or not :-(

You need to at least insist on the breaks that any employee is legally entitled to, check the government website but it's something like 20 minutes for every 6 hours, it's not much but better than nothing.
