Is this a prolapse?

I'm 22 weeks into third pregnancy and I'm concerned I might have some kind of prolapse.
Sorry for tmi but whenever I try to do a poo I can't put any pressure to push or it feels like everything's going to fall out. Even at the end of a wee it feels horrible.
I can feel a bit sore and bruised after sex too.
Is this just pressure from baby or something else? I only experienced this once when I was very badly constipated with my second pregnancy and not at all with my first.
I've tried looking in a mirror but couldn't see anything 'hanging out' but had a bulge which felt firm to touch in one lip.
So sorry for all the horrible detail!

Could be a vulval varicose vein? I am also pregnant with DC3 and need to use my hand to press on the veins before I can poo Sad Blush. HOWEVER definitely worth getting checked by a doctor / midwife as you really don't want to risk a prolapse or anything internal going untreated. Can you get a gp appt tomorrow? Good luck and much sympathy!

GP appointment tomorrow to put a name to it which will be a help. Good luck

Ah, then year it could well be.

If it helps, I’m in the same boat. I already have a mild prolapse and after this baby (I have massive babies that fly out very quickly doing plenty of damage) it will be totally fucked.
I’m doing pelvic floor exercises but it’s probably too little too late.

Will a GP be able to do anything? Was going to mention to midwife but I don't see her for another 6 weeks Hmm

He/she can have a good look and diagnose and then refer to consultant if needed for treatment.

JustVent · 11/06/2018 21:14

Yes, the GP can look and see if that’s what the problem is. Can also treat constipation or other things that will make it worse.

This is exactly what I have at 24 weeks. I don't know about prolapse because I've always thought I've had one since my first baby, but right now I've got lots of vulval variscosities. I couldn't see anything til they got really bad this week but the pressure has been there for a few weeks. I also feel like I need to hold myself when doing a poo in as everything feels like it's falling out! My midwife advised ice packs when I can and stuffing my knickers when I'm out and about. She said a few maternity pads on top of each other but I've uses a rolled up muslin as well. It feels ridiculous at first but the support it gives is a relief.
