Anyone got any tips or tricks for this !!! I have a very active 2 year old and I'm currently 25 weeks pregnant. This weather is killing me so we are stuck in doors and she's just a little nightmare. Her bedtime seems to be getting later and later every night. Just feels like I can't cope with everything at the moment. Please tell me this gets easier or am I just kidding myself

Sorry I don't have any advice but in a similar boat, 23 weeks with a 1 year old, always so busy I forget I'm pregnant most of the time! Hope you start to feel better x

Same, 23 weeks with a busy 2 year old and hayfever is killing me. She gets more telly now than she used to. I have braved the outdoors a few times because she loves it and expects to go out every day but it's exhausting. Only thing I can suggest is to get a chair outside in a shady spot and chuck a big ball in the garden, or break out the paddling pool and put your feet in. Minimilk ice creams are good too, not too big for a two year old to have one. Do you have blackout curtains for her room? We decided it would be a necessity for summer. Ours is quite good about bed time she either takes herself to bed or we insist at 7.30, she has a drink, snack, brushes teeth and a story (same book every time, she decided, the tortoise character goes to sleep at the end and she has a big cuddly tortoise). She rarely goes straight to sleep, comes out a couple of times, gathers her toys, but she's usually out by 8.30. We also switch to a light blanket when it's too hot for her to sleep. If bed times getting earlier maybe she needs wearing out a bit more, swimming is good, we go to a float session sometimes, she likes it and that makes it easier for me to manage. Other than the temp it's the hip pain that's killing me, pushing a pram seems to make it worse, got a support band but not sure how much it's helping, due date feels a long way off.

2 and a bit year old and am 35 weeks. Counting down until I can use my body again properly as I am HEAVY right now!
Survival is the name of the game for us - I try and get him out of the house every morning even if we walk to the park and back. He’s like a puppy and needs a lot of opportunity to burn off the energy. We have spent lots of time in the garden with the sun and I’m ashamed to say the iPad has been used more than I’d have liked. As has CBeebies!!
We have done lots of play groups, soft play and swimming (when I could) - anything to tire him out and make sure bedtime happens! He’s been pretty good in honesty and just maintaining his routine of bath story bed has helped me put him down without too much trouble if daddy can’t get back from work in time for bed.
I’m knackered and fed up but nearly there. Then the challenge of juggling two begins!

I feel the pain. Two and a half year old and 28 weeks tomorrow. Got a five year old too, but since she's at school most of the day and quite reasonable the rest of the time she's no trouble.

Stuck in today waiting for a workman. It's torture. Cafes with play areas and air conditioning are my saving grace.

I'm 14 weeks and have a 2 year old. Really struggling with day to day life and workinh with this fatigue and nausea. Feel like such a failure as a mother as just doing the bare minimum to get by! No advice but hope it helps to know you're not alone! X

2 year old and 33 weeks! We’re surviving by visiting cousins and grandparents LOTS!! Means I can sit in the shade and DD can play in the garden with others which wears her out. We’ve stuck to routine which helps and means she’s in bed and asleep by 7:30 so I get an evening to relax. DH is also taking on more as I get bigger.

I’m stupidly working until 39 weeks (teacher and due in summer hols so not actually starting mat leave until baby is born!) and dread my working days as I know I’m exhausted by the time the kids go home at 3, let alone then coming home and being mummy!!!

Totally ready to have my body back even though I know il never sleep again!!! lol x

A very active 16 mo and I'm 40weeks Grin

Tbh we have been making the most of the good weather, I've been sat outside in the garden under an umbrella with cold drinks and mumsnet and DC1 has been roaming round the garden, playing on a little trike, digging stuff up with a bucket and spade, collecting and examining rocks, pulling moss off the walls and playing in a washing up bowl of water with various kitchen utensils.

I've been having some stuff delivered for the new baby that's come in big cardboard boxes so I got some chalks (£1.50 from ASDA for some big ones) and DC has been scribbling all over the boxes with them and then using them as dens/climbing equipment until they collapse.

DC is so knackered at the end of the day that bedtimes have been surprisingly easy (once we got a blackout blind anyway!)

It's been quite a lovely summer so far actually.
