Should I be worried about the colour of my pregnancy tests, 5 weeks 2 days

Okay so I have been bombarding this forum with countless questions and I'm fully aware I sound like a deranged woman! I'm 5 weeks 2 days pregnant. None of my tests have been darker than the control line yet and I'm concerned. Should they be darker than this considering how far I am. Clearblue digital says 3+ weeks, but these one step tests are dubious.

I only ever use those cheap ones, and mine all looked like yours. I have a toddler and a 24 week bump. Both times looked just like yours.

The only ones that didn't, were my miscarriage, which never really got that dark and faded away with every passing day.

If yours are staying like that, I'd say all is good still. Congratulations!

I think I made the same mistake you have. I used old one step tests that I'd had in the cupboard for years and didn't have the box or leaflets with pictures of the tests on. I tested at around the same pregnancy time as you and was worried that the test line was faint and not as dark as the control line. When I googled it, it appears that the test line is meant to be fainter, not the same darkness as the control line face palm

Congratulations on your normal bfp Grin

Mine never even got as dark as that, and I’m nearly 12 weeks and I had a scan early so there’s definitely a baby in there!

Think mine were even lighter than that when I first got my BFP, and after a MMC I was really anxious about it. I'm now 18 weeks along with a very active one. Good luck Flowers

I tested obsessively and my test line never got darker then the control with either of my children. I think it is First Response Early Response tests where the test line sometimes "steals" from the control line. Congratulations!

I did the same and it shat me up big time. They were nice and dark and even at 5 weeks, then 5+2 seemed lighter and patchier then 5 +4 a bit lighter and patchier still. Apparently though from what I've read the hook effect comes in to play at around 5 weeks, where whole HCG is replaced with two types of HCG which confuse the test a bit. It the fluctuates during your pregnancy.

Agree with
Others, those tests cane up with a line the naked eye couldn't see only a torch and using same urine a pregnant 1-2 weeks. They aren't the sensitivity they describe so don't worry I'm now 12 weeks
