2cm dilated and having contractions. How to speed things up?

I've been having contractions since 3.30am after a sweep yesterday. I've been assessed at the hospital and I'm 2cm dilated and cervix is a lot thinner than yesterday. I've been sent home until contractions become more regular. Does anybody have any tips for speeding this up?

stay upright lots of walking let gravity help. sway your hips from side to side gently.

Sex
Walk up and down stairs

Jiggle

Keep moving. Scrubbing floors, walking side step up and down stairs.

Don't have sex, now your cervix is open there's an increased risk of infection.

I couldn't sleep comfortably and ended up propping myself up sitting on an exercise ball the night before my DD was born!

No tips I’m afraid but good luck!

don't scrub floors or stay on all four, as that's for turning the baby in late pregnancy, and for slowing a fast Labour.

The best thing is to have the head putting pressure on the cervix with gravity.
keep moving, stay up right, if not walking lean on the back of chair or work top.

Side stepping up stairs, nipple stimulation, sex, keeping upright, massive walks. Good luck!

Agree with all of the above but also rest if you need to; if you completely exhaust yourself at this stage contractions might stop anyway so try to alternate these suggestions with resting.

Lots of walking and a nice big meal for energy!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, especially the one to rest - I've been up since 3.30am so feeling pretty shattered right now! It's going to be hard to sleep through the contractions though.
